Re: Michael Harbison re-elected as Lord Mayor
So David, where to from here? Will you be lobbying on behalf on the younger generation in the CBD? I'm very passionate about the exodus of young people from SA, especially the city and I will continue to look for new ways to do my bit to reverse this trend. Adelaide has an enormous amount to offer,...

Re: Michael Harbison re-elected as Lord Mayor
Almost certainly. The fact that, amongst some very high profile candidates in the area ward, I made it all the way through to the very end tells me that there is a part of Adelaide that is trying to break out of its country town mentality. But I am very happy that Michael Harbison has retained his r...

Re: Michael Harbison re-elected as Lord Mayor
Hey guys, just got home. Thanks for all your support during those whole thing. I literally missed out by a whisker, and, as the youngest candidate, was knocked off by the oldest, David Plumbridge in the final preference distribution. It's an interesting mix for the new council - a lot of pro-heritig...

Re: Newsflash: Michael Harbison is re-elected as Lord Mayor
Most Arnie and Jeffrey preferences flowed to Francene Connor, which is why it was so close.

Re: Adelaide City Council Poll 2007 (AREA COUNCILLOR POLL)
The strongest four the primary vote is made up of Richard Haywood, Frances Wong, Ralph Clarke and David Plumbridge. A very mixed bunch. Then there is myself and Michael Gray and perhaps one other that are still in the running. Even down at the Electoral Office it is hard to get information so there ...

Re: Adelaide City Council Poll 2007 (AREA COUNCILLOR POLL)
Thanks for the support guys. Voting is going on as we speak and I'm in with a chance but it's all down to preferences. Anne Moran is the only candidate to make it in on primary vote.

Michael Harbison re-elected as Lord Mayor
Hey guys, My partner just got back from the vote counting for the council elections and Michael Harbison has been re-elected as Lord Mayor. It was close though, only a handful of votes between him and Francene Connor after preferences. They are doing the Area Councilor count now, and I'm in the runn...

Re: Adelaide City Council Election 2007 (LORD MAYOR POLL)
Hey Al, Thanks for the vote, although you had better be quick in rushing it down to the post box by 6, otherwise it won't make it to the electoral office by tomorrow. Anne's probably worth giving a vote to, although her position on Vic Park changes a lot. You might want to look at Sarah Coligan, as ...

Re: Adelaide City Council Election 2007 (LORD MAYOR POLL)
Actually Bulldozer, Internet voting is been widely used in the UK, Switzerland, Estonia and Canada, mostly for non-compulsory local government elections. Not only has it increased voter turn out, but has encouraged voting from a wider cross section of the community.

Re: Xenophon To Canberra
Was very surprised to hear this. I was at a speech he gave the other night and he seemed so committed to his role in State Government.
