Does anyone know what is happening with the original part of the GPO? I hope it doesn't sit empty but also gets a sensible renovation / refurbishment and not everything painted white.

[U/R] Re: 67 Waymouth Street | Telstra Exchange | Re-cladding
Some photos from today. Looks like the eastern side has been painted grey half way along. Perhaps its going to be a mix of painted original facade and cladding. The mystery continues....

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Contracts, Service & Policy
That's because Victoria actually has a clue about public transport and its importance. We make a big song and dance about a 1km "new" line and the reopening of a station with next to no shelter. Its very clear our government is not interested at all in public transport. If they were, our r...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide
I think it would be perfect for the Port. It could showcase not only the wildlife of the area but also touch on the local dolphin population and the areas wildlife history. Lets face it, Adelaide needs something for the tourist. We don't have any of the nice tourism type parks or anything like that ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
It looks like I tossed a grenade into this thread last weekend, then stepped back. That wasn't my intent. This is the trains thread. Adelaide's train network currently is set up to move people in and out of the CBD for 9-5ish jobs, so that's what people do from those outer suburbs near the train li...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide
Spotted this in todays paper. Looks like that hotel project is dead as we all knew and the land is now being carved up. Im going to hazard a guess here that if something is built, it will either just be townhouses or possibly townhouses with cafes / small shops at ground level.

[ONH] Re: 75-79 King William Street | ~38m | 10 Levels | Wyndham Grand Hotel
Out of all of the big tower announcements over the last five years, this is one that I was most excited about. The curved corner design and the overall scale of the building looked really good at least in the renders. While I am pretty underwhelmed by this new design, I have a bad feeling it will ge...

[PRO] Re: Festival Plaza Tower 2 | 149m | 38 Levels | Office
The whole thing was shady from the start. What would have been better for this site was more a Federation Square type development with buildings with at least their first few levels having attractions for people to look at for free or pay an admission price. Plonking purely office buildings there wa...

[U/R] Re: 67 Waymouth Street | Telstra Exchange | Re-cladding
From what I can see today of the eastern side from my office is that they appear to be replacing the black coloured brackets on the original facade. Perhaps the original brackets were secure enough to hold the new cladding?

[COM] Re: Armada Arndale (Redevelopment) | $200m
I wonder if the new owner intends on building on the vacant land at the back? Would be good to see it developed as shops on the ground floor and apartments above (not tiny townhouses that all look the same).

[PRO] Re: 10 Anzac Highway | Forestville | Mixed Use
Heres hoping the design / final outcome is not dumbed down from the renders posted previously. This will hopefully be an exciting development and not just grey boxes that look the same (Im looking at you Dock One / Port Adelaide).

[U/R] Re: cladding on telstra building waymouth st
Noticed this morning that most of the little black plates have been removed from the front of the building at least along with the cladding itself. The scaffolding is still up but only lower down the front of the building - couldn't see the western side but might go for a walk later today to have a ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses
I wonder what the reason was for not building the new bus interchange next to the railway station... seems another missed opportunity to me to make the system more cohesive
