Re: #Proposed : $25m Motorsport Complex (Garden Island)
First post here in a long while, but thought I'd update whats happening with the proposed Adelaide Motorplex. First up, regarding the Tailem Bend Motorsport Park, from what I understand it will only cater to car clubs, so the drag strip will only be suitable for street cars. So even if it gets built...

[DEF] Re: AAMI Stadium to recieve a $100million facelift
Although I haven't posted here for some time, I've been following this thread and would like to raise a point to those members who have doubts about the flow on economic benefits to the CBD an inner city stadium would create. For 21 of the last 23 years, massive amounts of money has be expended sett...

Re: #Proposed : Port Adelaide Tram Line
I'm predicting the existing Outer Harbour and Grange lines will be converted to light rail operation with a new spur down Semaphore Road. I'm not against this provided they find a way to run services with an interval shorter than 5 minutes to avoid whats currently happening with the Glenelg line. Ex...

Re: #Approved: Twin Waters - 7st 2towers -West Lakes Apartments
Its not what I'd call a tower crane (since its not on a tower), but its not one of those mobile telescopic cranes since it appears to have been assembled on site.

Re: Hewett: New Residential Area
Wow Hewitt is really coming under flak here, but I'm with rhino and cruise and don't think the suburb is a bad development, after all I'm sure the majority of people living there work in the local area (Gawler, Barossa or lower north such as at the bottle factory just up the road). While I'd also li...

[COM] Re: Northern Freeway
I appreciate your fustration raulduke - the Northern Connector will only benefit those living north-west of Elizabeth and Main North Road, while everyone else in the northern suburbs have to continue to use Main North Road which from Gepps Cross to the Golden Grove Rd intersection is a disgrace - ju...

Re: Adelaide Transport Woes
Or if they don't want to go for the 200% discount, maybe an extension of the interpeak rate be made before 7:30? 200% discount? So you get paid to travel by public transport - I like it! :o But seriously I agree with you, lets have interpeak before 7:30am and after 6:30pm to encourage more public t...

I think those points should be implemented IMO. Or if they don't want to go for the 200% discount, maybe an extension of the interpeak rate be made before 7:30? 200% discount? Re: Labor to buy $6bn fighter jets
I didn't know that, but boy am I gobsmacked that the Government would interfere like that. Hopefully next year we will get to see some F-22's, certainly would make for a great show seeing something new.

Re: Labor to buy $6bn fighter jets
I'm a bit of an aviation buff myself (I have been to the last 6 Airshows at Avalon) and as the article suggests, the new government really have no choice to proceed. Ideally, a mix of F-22 Raptors & F-35 Lightning would have been the correct answer for a superior airforce with all round capabil...

Re: Labor to buy $6bn fighter jets
I certainly get a kick out of military aviation (have been to the last 3 Australian International Airshows at Avalon). I'm guessing the purchase price of the Eurofighter (which is closer in capabilities to the F-35) is much higher, and the need to develop an all new inventory and tooling system all ...

Re: Victoria Square Visions
I think the best way to solve the 'island' effect created by King William Street and the spliting in half of the square caused by Grote/Wakefield Street is to raise the two halves of the square up above road level, connect the two halves with a deck bridge, then link the raised square (in reality a ...

Re: New motorsport complex
Only problem with AIR is the track faces into the setting sun and the crowd is far too close to the strip for top level categories such as Top Fuel. SOFT! I remember when my dad took myself and a couple of my friends out there one night when we were 14 or 15 and the nitros came to town. I have neve...

Re: New motorsport complex
Cheapest option would be to do an upgrade of Adelaide International Raceway, but obviously they need to purchase it off Bob Jane first. Only problem with AIR is the track faces into the setting sun and the crowd is far too close to the strip for top level categories such as Top Fuel. Personally I th...
