[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment Thread - Now Includes Poll!

You're onto something flavze. After spending that much on the AO, it would be good to see however many seats remain after the various memberships have been accommodated, offered free (by ballot if necessary) to the non-member mug punters who have paid for it. It would be a nice gesture, for a few w...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment - General Discussion Thread

I agree with everything said in the last couple posts. I was only today telling a Melbourne couple (who, incidentally, I met on a train between Florence and Rome) how I love to zip over to Melbourne to crows matches at least once or twice a year. But of course the effect is doubled for us if both ou...

[CAN] Re: #U/C: The Precinct - 5 x 18 lvl - 58m towers

Those Walter Gropius designs are great - thanks for that Prince. Quick pic from last week, not sure about this one but not dismissing it entirely just yet either. Pretty sure though I wouldn't be a big fan of another 19 storey clone sitting next to it either way, much less five of them Ever been to...

[COM] Re: APP: Rundle Place | 102m | 21lvls | Office & Retail

i find it strange the way people claim if the gov dropped payroll tax etc 'big business' would magically come to adelaide. I don't see it happening as melbourne is too close to adelaide and has a monopoly over SA. That's not all Melbourne has over Adelaide. But we've had that disucssion a million t...

Re: #VIS: Riverside (Entertainment Precinct)

Having not read through all of the first nine pages of posts I'm almost certainly sure this has been said but I have to say that as a non-partial voter who is a little dissapointed with the current governments commitment to development, this riverside development does begin to swing the pendulum...

If the majority of the population knew why we got that moniker I would have no problem with it. However in reality people think that we are the city of churches because we are such a boring place that going to church is all there is to do. Do you really think Australians are that stupid? Will, most...

I agree with AtD - good to hear that this is in progress on the west side. . That bldg tends to bring the Nth side of Grebfell entirely into the hi rise realm for the whole length from KWS to HSQ. Now for the south western corner of HSQ. (in desperate need of addressing - perhaps with more resi hig...

Re: #Vision: New Inner-City Stadium

The Crows are top 5 in Key "effort" statistics such as tackles and contested possessions and have developed a league wide reputation as being a committed side. I'm not talking about key effort statistics - I'm not saying they don't try, I'm saying they are passionless and don't fight hard...

Re: #Vision: New Inner-City Stadium

You'd have to be pretty gullible to believe anyone who says they would go to more games at a city stadium. If people aren't that interested in going to watch football at West Lakes then they just aren't that interested full stop. Bullshit. If only had to travel 20mins instead of an hour and could g...

Re: #Vision: New Inner-City Stadium

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that just maybe crows supporters base their decision about whether to go to port home game showdowns on how likely they are to win. With the way the crows are playing at the moment, there is no way I would spend my hard earned money to waste three hours...

I'm sure someone has already mentioned this, but irrespective of whether it's high rise or not, it is still F*ING UGLY.

Nice pics Norman. I used to work on Grenfell street and would walk past this every day. I waited for so long for some action and of course as soon as it gets underway I quite that job! So its nice to still be able to see the progress.

Bugger. I love Villi's - beef schnitzel and chips to die for.
