Re: Concept: Multi-Purpose Stadium
I like the concept of the multipurpose stadium but its versatility is also its main weakness. Can anyone imagine, the SANFL, SACA and Soccer Australia sitting down to nut out a timetable for using the facility. I think any stadium should be part of an overall plan that encapsulates the full gamut of...

Re: The Adelaide O-Bahn
very well said. We need to think forwards and with some element of standardization across the entire network.
What we must begin to do is think about the future of this great state and well past the next election, and the one after that.

Re: RAH Rebuild Concept
[quote="Wayno"]what about the problem of noise during construction?" [quote] Good point Wayno. Given however the majority of "medical specialists" have called for a renovation of the existing buildings, I don't think noise is a key concern for them and what I am proposing is...

Re: RAH Rebuild Concept
I am not sure you appreciate the amount of vacant land in stages 1 and 2 which by my estimate exceeds 20000 square meters. I am sure they can find space for the workers to have lunch and create a significant loading yard whilst constructing the first couple of buildings with NO site remediation. Giv...

Re: The Adelaide O-Bahn
Yes Cruise, I watched the promotional video that promoted the O-Bahn as the way of the future in 1986. It had great potential. Sadly only Adelaide picked it up and ran with it and now we can't buy buses or parts for what is now an outdated pipedream thus my argument to cut our losses and start again...

Re: The Adelaide O-Bahn
What I think he means is that it is foolish having ad-hoc public transport infrastructure and the types of PT systems must be kept to a minimum. That being so I agree strongly. The O'Bahn is a one off and ongoing upgrades hard to source, why not rip up the tracks and replace them with an electric tr...

RAH Rebuild Concept
With the Government spending tens of thousands spinning the Marj few seem to want, I thought it might be an opportune time to consider an alternative. The Government argue that they could not rebuild the RAH without substantial disturbance to the existing facility. That is completely misleading when...

Adelaide Sports & Entertainment Facility
Our main sports facility is an aging monolith in the far north western suburbs yet the Government propose to throw hundreds of millions revamping it whilst we have no CBD facility of any substance. They also propose spending money revamping the Adelaide Oval and the Entertainment Centre. We have an ...

Re: #Article: Rann to retire in 10 years.
I thought this thread was about Rann staying on and questioning his achievements or lack there of? I also thought that someone suggested he had done things to his own detriment. I think it is on thread and you are simply looking for a chink, an opportunity to shoot someone who is blatantly anti-apat...

Re: #Article: Rann to retire in 10 years.
Phil, although this isn't the forum for discussion on policing.. i'd like to add that Mike has been very brave in his stance on organized crime in state, he's put his personal safety and that of his family at risk and I believe he should be commended in tackling the problem head on. What has Rann a...

Re: Waiting Lists
Well forgive me for pointing out that the Emperor is actually not wearing any clothes when it is appropriate to do so especially when some fool comments on the quality of the linen in his suit or the fine shoes he is wearing! (That was a metaphor and not a shot at Rann but a comment as to the situat...

Re: Article: City Tram Track To Grow
Um PhilM, most of us on here couldn't give a toss about state politics, and what govt is in power. What we care about is making our city better in terms of development. This is not a labor versus liberal website. Who cares anyway, they are both the same, and it doesnt make any difference anymore of...

Re: #Article: Rann to retire in 10 years.
One can't help but wonder if Chris Rann is behind the thread!! It seems to revel in the apathy sweeping this State! Now I can't help but ponder why I get so heavily dissed on other threads for questioning the Government being vehemently told it is an apolitical site yet this dribble appears. JK said...
