Looks like I'm one of a minority on here that doesn't like it. One interesting precast panel repeated with black glass. Yes it's nice to have a new and somewhat contemporary building on the skyline, but it's nothing special. The signage is the best part. [emoji13]

[COM] Re: #PRO: Uni of Adelaide - Medical School - 13lvl- $120 mil
Pretty sure the budget for this project is now officially over $200 million. Not sure if that's been mentioned earlier in the thread - I may have missed it. That's a pretty significant amount. But still no money for relocation of the dental school. Odd. The architects for the project as most will be...

Karidis need to lift their game. This is bog standard old-Adelaide development. It's the kind of building that we'll all be campaigning to have demolished on this forum in 20 years time...

[COM] Re: #Vis: Festival Plaza Redevelopment $800m
Walker Corp has been sitting on this for a couple of years having had a bit of a falling out with the architects they were working with. My guess would be that they're trying to get things moving with a bit of publicity. It'd be fantastic, to say the least, to see the plaza redeveloped. But I'd pref...

This only ties in because the Hilton is on the square, but it's worth noting that there are plans to redevelop the Adelaide Hilton: http://www.australiandesignreview.com/news/22577-Woods-Bagot-to-design-Hilton-Adelaide Woods Bagot has been appointed as the architect for the new Hilton Adelaide devel...

In all of the information that's been posted by the government and also in the media, there's little or no mention of who the architects are. This is one of the few bits of info out there: http://www.architectureanddesign.com.au/article/Builders-vie-for-new-Royal-Adelaide-Hospital/490993.aspx Aurora...

Re: Uni SA "Blueprint 2015"
And in case anyone's wondering, the architect for this concept was John Wardle Architects, the people who did both the Hawke Building and the Kaurna Building at UniSA.

OK, so I should pay closer attention. But I was told under pain of death. Apparently I needn't fear for my life after all.

A heads up to you creative types out there: the Lantern is going to be opened up for people to submit video and animation at a later date. No word on the format that will be required or when exactly this will be announced. I'm not supposed to know this, so please don't ask me for verification!

There's something bittersweet about this to me. I'm nothing less than thrilled to see a development of this scale anywhere in Adelaide, but particularly that it should finally occur at this site. But I'm a little disappointed at the neo-something pastiche style of building that they've designed for ...

I know we need more housing and high density is unavoidable, but I think it's tragic that we get another development that appears (from the layout) to give no consideration at all to orientation and placement of houses. Absolutely loving the idea of a curved facade. Not only would it be of visual interest in itself, but the contrast would emphasise both the rectilinear new buildings on that strip of North Terrace and the neo-classical old buildings adjacent to it.
