Re: #Proposed : Palm Grove (Islington railway site) - $35m
It will be intresting to see how they fit everything in the space they have. The old TNT yard (the land in question) isnt that big. I would have thought they could fit one developent, being houseing or a shopping centre.

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
I agree, plus the new soon to be opened Bakewell Underpass, if the tram could run down and up the pass, that would be awesome. Trams did run through the underpass at Hawthorne on Goodwood Road back in the day. Infact this was the very reason this underpass was built. If it wasnt for the trams we wo...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
The rail in 1929 was just the old steam train rail turned around so that the old running surface was on the outside - so if any of it exists still, it could be turn of the 20th century stuff. Wow. I think they got rid of most of that in the seventies - but I could be wrong. If you look out the wind...

Re: Upgrade of Adelaide Rail Network
The line is now in very poor condition and needs to be rebuilt (sleepers, ballast, tamping, etc) before it would be considered safe for rollingstock. The sleepers are actually in pretty good condition with most still being ok for service, most of them are steel. Ballast can be reclaimed although it...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
It's laughable for all of you in here to whinge about the people whinging about the tram because from what I've read, absolutley none of you deal with the tram on a daily basis to experience what everyone else has. Froggy, The tram is my principle means of transport other then walking. I have only ...

Re: Upgrade of Adelaide Rail Network
this has to happen at the north end of town to Exept the lines are already there the just need to be opened to public transport trains. If you are talking about the line past Gawler Central, then I would forget about having Transadelaide services on it. With much thanks to the last Liberal State Go...
