Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

All i'll say to that is, if they do, Qantas better offer their newest plane with exemplary service plus cheaper fares or it will fail spectacularly. The incoming A321XLR will do the job. QF would want to offer a better business class on this aircraft to compete against Singapore Airlines B78X. I do...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Emirates have announced their return to Adelaide and this will commenced from October 28 on the B777-200LR. See: https://www.emirates.com/media-centre/emirates-to-make-highly-anticipated-return-to-adelaide-in-october-2024/ Maybe once Qantas receives more A220's and their new A321XLR's, this will hop...

Theres rumour of Vietjet leaving by end of the year. Not confirmed
Not surprising. Plenty of other 1 stop options.

On a side note, VietJet's flights from / to Perth never seem take the most direct route over the Bight. They always detour inland over the Nullarbor. Does anyone know why?

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

What a con job.

Whilst not widely reported, it was part of the original scope for the grade separations project.

Typical politics at play and impeccable timing to cut the ribbon just before the 2026 state election.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Whilst the raw data may suggest that a direct service to the US might be viable, I wouldn't underestimate the flying public's preference for particular airlines and their associated loyalty programs. Personally, regardless of who offers a potential direct Adelaide - US service, if it doesn't align w...

Re: Gepps Cross intersection

Just an idea i thought worth throwing out. The Gepps Cross intersection seems to be a challenge too difficult to resolve. With the recent sale of the former drive in, i think we've missed an opportunity to remove one of the contributing roads to this intersection and merging it further north. Doing ...

That doesnt seem right. The Tram Grade Sep program alone is a $400m 50:50 state/feds contribution. not that i dont want even more rail investment, but the numbers dont seem to align.
The Glenelg Tram Grade Separations project is an enabling project for T2D and therefore funded as part of T2D.

I would love to see a national indigenous cultures centre in Australia and preferrably Adelaide, but struggle to comprehend how a centre in Adelaide would put us "on the map" more so than centres listed interstate in the excellent article that gnrc_louis posted on 24/4. Perhaps time for a ...
