Can any one tell me or know where to find the answer to what % of the traffic that travels along south road from say grand junction road actually uses the existing southern expressway?

Hear, hear!... or is it here, here! What you look at what actually is being done/planned, there is no comparison - even though there could be a debt issue for the taxpayer to pick up. SA - STATE ON THE MOVE On the move in reverse!!!! :hilarious: Tax debt already there and climbing, land tax up 300%...

[COM] Re: #PRO: Southern Expressway duplication | $445m | 22km
So go have a cry. What's your point? No plan or proposal will ever please everyone. Seriously it isn't that bad people. Most South Australians enjoy very high quality lifestyles, but they always find something to whinge about. Most of us have multiple options to choose from when travelling from poi...

[COM] Re: #PRO: Southern Expressway duplication | $445m | 22km
Camaro68 - all the states IMO are more 'backward' than forward thinking looking at it from your viewpoint for several reasons - some reasons being politics, money and votes. Long range visions are needed, but if there is a government change they often are heavily changed or scrapped. LOng range com...

[COM] Re: #PRO: Southern Expressway duplication | $445m | 22km
Woo Hoo, let's fix the expressway while the rest of south road chokes, another brilliant idea by the SA conservative, bandaid fix aficionados. This state is a joke. :wallbash: That's an ignorant statement, camaro68. The reason the expressway is being doubled now is because the Feds have put forward...

[COM] Re: Southern Expressway to be doubled
"So lets put you in charge. You have numbers that to fix all of South Road will cost X billion dollars. You then get offered half a billion dollars to upgrade part of it now, limited time offer. Do you turn that money down? Is it worth that amount of money to get your pet section of road upgrad...

[COM] Re: Southern Expressway to be doubled
Me thinks it would be better to spent the proposed money for doubling the Southern Expressway and the elevated freeway at Regency park ($1.3 Billion) on improving the portion of south road in between Darlington & Regency Park. :2cents: Or are we hoping that further tram extensions will fix this...

Re: The Great Roads Debate
Indeed. :applause: For better or worse, South Road will never be the freeway some people want it to be. The chance for that has been and gone decades ago. So basically SA has had no strategies in the past so we're stuck with south road!!!! :wallbash: Not much has changed then, coz media mike is sti...

I was also in Melbourne earlier this year and drove from the Airport to Langwarrin took me 65 mins to travel 80kms, with road works on the M1. That is like travelling from Mclaren Vale to Gawler, try doing that in an hour on a Sunday, let a lone in peak hour traffic. :wallbash: If we agree that we s...

Slightly more convenient???? Are you kidding me, travel from cnr of Sturt and south road to cnr or regency and south road at 8 a.m. and then use the word slighty. Not sure what planet you're on my friend but that needs to be fixed now, what do you think is going to happen with the trucks when they r...

It amazes me how the two opposed to this freeway don't even live in Adelaide!!!!! :wallbash: Adelaide's working population is two spread out it's not like other states countries where most people work in this city, the public transport option would not work. [COM] Re: South Road Upgrade
"I suspect the 'super way' only got Federal money due to it's potential as a freight link through a largely industrial area. Freeways are, in general, a poor investment choice for improving travel times for commuters because they induce more vehicle trips." Ahh yes induced demand, my old n...
