[COM] Re: PRO: Goodwood - Bowden rail grade seperation project | $
Another thing I would like to point out - I think it's sometimes easy to diss this project because obviously most of us are sour (myself included) about rail electrification / tram extensions being "suspended". However, I think it is important to remember that the underpasses at Bowden and...

[COM] Re: PRO: Goodwood - Bowden rail grade seperation project | $
While I think it is a good idea to see light rail down to Port Adelaide, West Lakes and Semaphore I don't consider that it should entirely replace heavy rail services. The capacity of say a two set 3000 series compared with a standard tram is obviously much greater. If this part of the city is going...

Re: #PRO: Port Adelaide Tram | #COM: Entertainment Centre Tr
Does anyone know why the tram slows down to 10km/h when it hits the parklands straight after Greenhill Road? Seems crazy that it should have to travel so slowly there. On another note, I'm also curious to know what people's thoughts are regarding the traffic signal sequence for the trams. The worst ...

[COM] Re: South Road Upgrades | PRO: South Road Superway
I'm sure someone has probably mentioned this before, but I am failing to see the logic in the government's plans to upgrade South Road. The section between Port and Regency is an absolute embarrassment to the city. There are no slip lanes for right turns, high vehicles can't even use the outer lanes...

City South needs some serious work. I work at 400 King William and catch the tram in every morning. Patronage is increasing and there isn't enough room! Also there is no shelter for when it's raining.capitalist wrote:ah yes good point
sorry for the confusion! the South Terrace on is fine, well even good.

Re: #U/C: Port Adelaide Tram Line
This might me a bit off topic, but something needs to be done about the City South stop. There isn't enough room for pedestrians during peak hour and the traffic light arrangement is completely dysfunctional. I wonder if there are any plans.

Re: Property Council's Adelaide 2036: Building on Light's Vision
There are some good recommendations in the report. I think the Eastern Tramline extension is a great idea and would help to reinvigorate that area of the city. Just thought it might be worth mentioning that the line should be extended right through to the end of North Terrance to connect the Botanic...

Re: #U/C: Port Adelaide Tram Line
Just looking at what has been discussed previously I just want to talk about a couple of points. 1. Surely closing the Grange line completely and redirecting to West Lakes would be a bad idea. Firstly, the line could have great potential in the future perhaps even with a connection to Henley Beach. ...

Re: #U/C: Port Adelaide Tram Line
Do you think they will actually scrap the idea of having trams and trains running on the same carriage way? I think it is a terrible idea! Imagine the issues with express trains running from Outer Harbour etc. It seems much more sensible to continue the tram way down the centre of Port Road with a c...

Re: Adelaide Uni | #UC Engineering Bldg | #PRO Union Hall 8,7lvl
I went along to an information session at the university today. The justification for using the of Union Hall site for a new building seems quite plausible. The building is going to be 6 storeys high and will apparently be quite similar to the innova21 building in terms of 6-star ratings for the env...

Union Hall Demolition
http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/stor ... 82,00.html
What are people's thoughts on the demolition of Union Hall? Most of the people I've spoken to don't think it's a great loss, but I think the building is quite interesting in a way and worth preserving.

Re: #U/C: [ City Central ] Masterplan Thread
I don't want to be ignorant but I'm new to the website so I just have a question about this development. Why has it stalled for so long? The Electra building has been sitting there for a long time now and the site west of the GPO also lies undeveloped. I just have another comment about the office to...
