Re: News & Discussion: National Broadband Network
Thank you, Liberal Party! I am on the Yorke Peninsula, and I am in Telstra Only Territory like almost all of regional australia. Looking forward to my 25Mb FTTN connection on my copper line. Hurry up! I'm sick of weather sensitive connection speeds! At best, I can get an 8Mb connection at best. Fort...

Re: News & Discussion: Trains
With close proximity to Adelaide High School and Temple Christian College, closing Mile End would be a mistake. Although it has limited services now, selected Noarlunga/Seaford service should stop there like Keswick to cater for the peak traffic, ie to school/work in the morning and ditto in the arv...

[COM] Re: SWP: Goodwood Junction Rail Underpass | $110m
Mile End does get a fair bit if patronage from Temple Christian College and Adelaide High School. I attended a training session up the west end of Currie St, and walked from Mile End rather than go into ARS then catch the tram back.

Re: News & Discussion: MetroCard System
Wonder how long for? Given Amex fees are typically 3% of a sale total, and assume a 10% margin on Metrocard recharges, a $30 recharge will not net any margin for the retailer.

Re: Public transport smartcard system
Oh, bollocks. Please tell me you were touching something wooden when you posted that? If you weren't, it's doomed!I'm still amazed at how well the government is handling the metrocard project.

Re: Adelaide Station to close for a month
Bowden makes the most amount of sense for the western passengers. Personally, I'd put a set of points on the western side of bowden, and do what they were doing in the first closure between Adelaide and Mawson Lakes, save the train traversing Park Terrace, except when it has to run back to Dry Creek...

Re: Rail Line to Flinders Uni
Looking at it, I'd be inclined to scope out the following items as part of the project. - Removal of Ascot Park from Noarlunga to the new line, station at Daws Rd. - Hybrid Tram/Train & Train Platform at Woodlands Park, ie High/Low Level - Removal of Edwardstown, Emerson, and Clarence Park High ...

Re: Rail Line to Flinders Uni
Looking at it, I'd also look at the location of the stations along the Tonsley Line. Given that you would have tram trains, it would be possible for them to go sailing past stops like the current trams. I'd be proposing a stop at Daws Rd, Celtic Avenue, Alawoona Rd. Mind you spacing could adjust to ...

Re: New OBahn artic?
Here's a Scania bus from another country fitted with genuine guidewheels!:  omnicity1resize.jpg Why is that funny? Because its a photoshop job, or because the doors are on the wrong side ! I can confirm for you that it is a LH Drive Scania Artic, used for trials. It is not a Photoshop Job. App...
