Re: #UC: Lightsview (Hampstead urban renewal)
There is a proposal for 5 storey apartments along City View Boulevard and the Minister for Planning has proposed a DPA which will look at increasing the densities here and in nearby areas.

Re: Inner City Planning Review - First Public Look
And if we can keep some facades of existing buildings, we can have interesting streetscapes too, like in the pictures, and not everything looking the same. Apart from family, friends and the events I go for, my main joy in visiting interstate cities is to walk around the interesting mix of heritage ...

Re: General Suburban Projects & Discussion
We'll see what mood the councilors are in when they decide about this - probably to keep everything as it is I'm afraid. The members of the Charles Sturt Development Assessment Panel make the decision. There are 5 independent members from the development and planning industries and 4 Councillors on...

Re: General Suburban Projects & Discussion
This development will probably be knocked back for the same reasons as the last one, which would be a pity. I think the problem lies in the outdated provisions in the Development Plan for which have not kept up with what I think most people would think would be progressive planning for this key area...

Re: General Suburban Projects & Discussion
Nathan, http://www.idealcity.org.au The above has Light's original plan. I agree that the cultural boulevard of North Terrace is brilliant and more uplifting than some more patches of weeds but Light also mentioned (I am too tired to find it now, you can try) of a such a cultural (one sided) bouleva...

Re: General Suburban Projects & Discussion
I can't find my copy of a report on the usage of the Parklands at the moment, but since the Parklands were first in place, about 20% have been lost to construction - just look along North Terrace for most of that. The report also showed that, from memory, about 12% was under lease to private schools...

Re: General Suburban Projects & Discussion
That would be Kelly Henderson. Her point was that the high rise buildings detract from the parklands. Even though I don't happen to agree on this occasion (I think the occasional high rise and the parklands across from them complement each other) please don't misquote as it devalues your argument. I...

Re: Is it too late to save the Port?
Reading the Port Adelaide Enfield Council minutes of their February meeting is interesting. Evidently trucks are bypassing (in more ways than one) the ban on trucks down St Vincent Street by going down Lipson Street which is a designated B=double route and then cutting through any of the side street...

Re: Yatala to go for new homes
As to Yatala, I spoke to my pal at Planning SA. Holloway is waiting on a final report from a consultant before making a decision. They wouldn't name the consultant, but it may well be Connor Holmes, doing their neat trick of advising a consortium of developers and simultaneously advising Mr Hollowa...

Re: Yatala to go for new homes
Well, Mattblack, I hope you're right sooner than later. I am no fan of the opposition either, but the Labor government know better, and make decisions they know are awful on a number of fronts, but most of these are outside the scope of these forums so let's move on. It wasn't that long ago that thi...
