[PRO] Re: 188 Grenfell Street | 64m | 19 Levels | Student Accom

The "shitty run down pub" is a home for so many people, students, the LGBTQ community, older generations who have been going there decades, it's a home for local talent and emerging live music acts. It's one of the few, if not only venue in the East End which quite literally brings the co...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments

Madness. Mali's vision is everyone having a kick around in the back yard? I think he'll be pretty disappointed when he sees what the developers have planned... And that's if people get back from the 50+km drive home from work while there is still some daylight left. Black roofs and Ford Rangers as f...

Re: New City Arena

Where was the significant resistance to the Adelaide Oval rebuild? There was a minority section within SACA opposed to it because it looked like (with some justification it turned out) the SACA heads were selling Adelaide Oval to the AFL, in exchange for getting bars and dining rooms named after th...

Easy enough solution. Compensate them for the loss of the on street parking.

And then charge them for use of the ones that remain...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

The likelihood of state govt intervention seems unlikely given the current party's vision for transportation in South Australia seems to also revolve around single occupant vehicles. How many hundreds of millions of dollars are they spending to add a few turning lanes here and there? That and city c...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

How's the precedent they've set here. Council trying to improve the city for anyone other than motorists and landlords? Losing a carpark in front of your building as a result? Just call Griffin lawyers on 8410 2020, for all of your legal threat needs. Heck I'm surprised this guy isnt an elected memb...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

Imagine running a city and being incapable of building a bike lane.

How do these people sleep at night. That kind of incompetence must chip away at you.

So I'm not a news ltd subscriber, nor will I ever be, but Adelaidenow seems to have an article outing Greg Griffin as the chief a-hole threatening to sue council over the proposed Bikeway.

Article in the tiser today, seems St Marys, the cathedral and orthodox church have hired a consultant to deliver a report claiming the bikeway is a "major threat to public safety". Im not sure what parallel universe we ended up in that deems infrastructure to support an active mode of tran...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

Disappointingly the bicycle interest groups are encouraging members to offer vocal support for the proposal (the fatally compromised design they've come up with isn't even guaranteed to pass at council). What a terrible precedent to establish, as if ACC wasn't already beholden to on street car parki...
