Re: Summer Olympic Bids
I reckon it will be Istanbul 2020, followed by Toronto 2024. I can't disagree, Istanbul is my pick for 2020, I reckon they've got a huge chance of winning it. Toronto is one of the bids I'm tipping for 2024 as well, along with Paris and Dubai (and a lot of people also reckon Durban has a big shot a...

Re: Summer Olympic Bids
Thanks for the comment Ben, I was originally thinking of having a Middle Eastern section though I eventually decided just to add their bids in with the Asian ones since their weren't that many of either at the moment. I also think Dubai could host a fantastic Olympics, though Doha (who have made bid...

Summer Olympic Bids
On the back of the recent Summer Olympic Games in London, I thought I'd start a thread to list the potential bids for upcoming Summer Olympic Games . There are similar threads on SkyscraperCity about this topic which have proved very popular, so I thought it would be a good idea to create a thread f...

Re: CBD Development: Planning / City Height Limits Overhaul
I absolutely love Atkins, their designs are always so iconic and recognisable, I would really love to work for them in the future. The State Government should surely consider launching a competition with some of the best architects/ firms in the world (i.e. Atkins, Zaha Hadid, Foster + Partners etc....

Re: #UC : World Trade Centre Site
sorry for taking absolutely ages to reply, I completely forgot that you don't get messaged when someone reply's to a post  Yes I'd consider the Petronas Towers taller considering the spire is a part of the strutural design, and is therefore solid in design, rather than being a possibly temporar...

Re: #UC : World Trade Centre Site
I've always been in support of architectural tip, at the end of the day antenna's are there as 'add ons', and are not actually part of the proper architectural design, whilst spires generally hold no benefit to the buildings communicational value and are therefore part of the structures design, as f...

I love this one, it's simple and yet stands out as unique in that section of the city, the panelling is also highly innovative for Adelaide!

wow this one really is shooting up, and deservedly so it looks great! Really did deserve to have kept its initial height, if only it had been proposed later it might have been fortunate enough to receive an increase rather than decrease :? Does anyone know the official height? It's been approximate ...
