You know everyone in Adelaide? Now who's telling fibs?

In fairness it's more a reference to dodgy nightlife than residents (and I took it about as seriously as I do the Holdfast Council).

[CAN] Re: PRO: Enigma 8 | 18 & 13 lvl | Office/Retail/Hotel

I didn't say it was unused. The former bowling centre building is being used, just not for bowling. It's being used for a purpose that likely means it won't be vacant for a long time. Given the absence of signage and patronage obviously I meant former bowling centre. What's so classified that the o...

Holdfast Bay Council votes to approve eight-screen cinema complex By Matthew Doran The old cinema in Jetty Road, which was built in 1937, was demolished in 2011 despite a long campaign to save it. I've heard people describe Glenelg as 'Salisbury by the Sea' but that's unfair. Some areas will soon r...

Good to see the gaps starting to fill between this/RAH and UniSA/Light Square. I can see the bowling centre and Marcellina's going as well but it'd be a shame to lose gems like the cottages on Gray St, Polites' flats, the brothel-esque townhouse next to Liberty and a restored Yianni's Yiros.

Dropped in to the Published Art House recently (next to Caos Backpackers on Cannon St.). Don't think it's been mentioned here - nice aerosol/canvas pieces by KAB-101 and a Vans the Omega wall piece near the stage area.

Being 115 years old the Northern Mound is as protected as the Scoreboard and Moreton Bay figs. Complaints about seating or preserving a pile of dirt completely miss the atmosphere and history of the area - it's like grumbling about lack of seating at Soundwave.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

Business owners must be turning a profit from outdoor dining (prominent patrons/signage/advertising and increased floor-space) otherwise they wouldn't extend their permits. I can see both sides of the argument in extreme circumstances but they're turning public space to their advantage. Surely those...

First Occupancy legislation was proposed a decade ago but I don't know for certain it passed. Page 3 describes the circumstances;

The artist behind the mural is Trevor Nickolls, a pioneer of urban Aboriginal art who passed away last year. His work is in every major Australian gallery, museums in Europe and North America AND he went to school with Malcolm Blight! Yes, the last development was just...strange. "Let's cut out...

Stick a fork in Unley, Burnside and Walkerville Councils and focus on the living end (dim the lights for West Terrace Cemetery). At least West Torrens, Charles Sturt and Prospect are on board for the Inner Metro. Growth Project.

A lot can change in 80s (or even 10) years, surely. Not that I would want Luna Park back in Adelaide. It's very old-fashioned. However I certainly would like to see something fun in Adelaide. However I haven't seen any suggestion that anyone is even thinking of building any serious tourist attracti...

Looking at his CV Hiles deserves a published opinion but he's obfuscated facts to push his (U.P.?) agenda. Vee challenged the 'only used 40 hours a year' theory and by my count there's 23 AFL home games, finals, possible SANFL matches, state cricket, international cricket, tennis, shows at the Oval/...

Actually finishing the Hajek sculptures as he intended would help - loads of vegetation to soften the cement. It's like blaming the architect if Adelaide Oval was left in it's current state of construction.

Cars are fine if you have kids or the weather's extreme but a lot of people are just fu<^!ng lazy. I've been catching public transport in Adelaide for 21 years and can't see the problem.
