The extension looks pretty terrible. I wish they continued with the architectural style as the original building.

Ok, but so is elevated rail. NYC has since had elevated tracks 1868.“But we are still running on 100-year-old technology with steel wheels on steel tracks on the ground.’’

[COM] Re: Victoria Square Upgrade - $24m
I know this would have been politically unviable, but imagine if they would pedestrianise the ring of roads around Victoria Square. Victoria Square is my 2nd favourite square after Moseley Square in Glenelg, mostly because Moseley Square doesn't have a road wrapped around it. It's 100% continuous pe...

Personally, I'd rather not see changes to the GST, as any increase hits unfairly when taken as a percentage of income - the less you earn, the higher percentage of your earnings you pay in tax. Interestingly, the Government's own modelling has shown that a Carbon Tax will raise just as much revenue...

How much of this is grift? Let's say it costs $10 million in materials and labour to install a 3rd rail, where's the other $590 million going?rubberman wrote:The Sydney system added about $600m for going wire free for roughly the length of King William Street.

What actually goes into creating such plans? I've seen people on sites like these come up with incredibly detailed hobby plans in their spare time. What are we paying for that is worth $200,000?SouthAussie94 wrote:The council last week agreed to spend $200,000 creating a plan

What is your justification?. How can you justify this not being a priority, when every other Australian city has over the last 3 decades benefited from cleaner, smoother, quieter and faster electric trains. While in good ol SA, some Adelaide residents are still being crammed into packed 1-3 diesel ...

Re: Why not a Vegas style river fountain show?
This topic reminds me of a small show town I've seen in America - Branson, Missouri. Hilton built a pedestrian mall (Branson Landing) up against their river front, and the centrepiece of the Branson Landing is their fountain. Every hour they play a song, andthe fountain turns into a fire and water s...

Not sure if this has been posted before: http://www.dpti.sa.gov.au/planning/adelaide_investment Somebody already posted that on the last page I think. But it comes with a 3d version as well, which I think is what Rev wants. http://www.dpti.sa.gov.au/planning/adelaide_investment/3d That is pretty co...

I thought of this; it's interesting to note that over the years, many people and the Government have long suggested that a tram loop through the West End would go a long way to revitalising the area and provide some economic and developemnt stimulus into the area. But as I mentioned before, it seem...

News seems to have died down over the AdeLINK rebuild. A bit disappointing because this rebuild couldn't happen sooner!
