[COM] Re: APP: 122 Grenfell Street | 58m | 17lvls | Hotel

Must say I never noticed that building in the centre of that shot before. Looks like it has some character and hopefully one day will house something other than an office. The whole street had a huge amount of character heritage streetscape...it has considerably less now. A huge shame work commitme...

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

If you really care so much why didnt you chain yourself to one of these half dead trees. By the way DAC is independent of the government. You might want to check the basis of your attacks before you get up on your soap box. Maybe Pat Conlon should have, they're going to die so soon they'd have prob...

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

It's all about the trees, of course...oh, and rampant bending of the rules by the DAC to stuff up our city, again! Rail freight through suburbs, concrete blah on Twin Street, parks on industrial slag heaps for St Claire, I'm loving it, can't wait to see what's next. Of course, the more commando acti...

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

Wow, the DAC circumvent the rules and laugh in the face of public opinion to do a dawn raid on a bunch of protected trees to satisfy the SACA, I was so surprised I nearly blinked.

Understand this is how it is (developments over $10mil at least), but should not be, in my opinion. The council (supposedly) represent the wishes of their residents, which should outweigh the wishes of the developer.

The point has been derailed somewhat with gobbledygook about height restrictions, but who decided to put forward a plan to erect a bunch of giant glass and concrete bookshelves on the Western side of Gouger Street? BEN: "How many CBD's in the world stop building high rise buildings because it c...

Thanks for the info Maximus, this is what I read also - although the map seems to show area around Grenfell Street I've mentioned as a 'no height policy' area - I have the development proposal right in front of me that shows ACC objection to being higher than the recommended 15 stories. So, are we d...

[CAN] Re: PRO: 171-207 Gouger Street | 59m | 19lvls | Mixed Use

Height restrictions have (apparently) been an ongoing issue for development in Adelaide, previously capped at generally 60m, it was lifted to 103m this year. This would have been negotiated with Adelaide Airport Limited, who take an interest in anything tall in the CBD. Depending on the zone and the...

There are height restrictions everywhere within the CBD, and encroachment distances to adhere too. Which zone is it in?

Why is it that the rules are set, yet developers continue to submit unrealistic plans that are not going to meet council approval? If the hotel is too high the plans need to be amended, very simple. The DAP seems to have a lot to answer for in it's recent meddling with our city...unfortunately, we'r...

Well, I guess my thoughts on 122 Grenfell St have been quite well covered on that particular thread, so it's nice to move onto something a little more focused. I know what you mean re: traffic, however, there's times I have been down Twin Street in the middle of the day where you could have shot a c...

Alright time for a thread cleanup. If people want to start throwing accusations left right and center without sourcing then by all means do it on your own blog. Anymore of this nonsense and thread gets locked. Oh dear, I'm afraid I'm likely better 'sourced' than you on the subject, so please don't ...

Approval for demolition of the building has not been granted as yet. Just note, the 29 Twin Street does not need to be demolished f...

I suspect you would find more people in favor of the demolition if it was actually intended to improve the laneway in any way. Absolutely Nort. Hopefully this will all pan out to be a positive move, we need thoughtful development in this part of our CBD as much of the four blocks involved is alread...
