Re: Re-sculpting Adelaide's parklands
I think the parklands are very under used and have often thought that there is a great resillience in Adelaide to have any 'constructions' or 'buildings on the parklands and that they should be kept completely as open space although i know there are buildings already on the parklands sporting clubs ...

thats cool. its just an example of something i think could work. cheersmonotonehell wrote:While I agree in general with what you say, your example is rubbish. Everything Ghery's done in the past decade has been EXACTLY the same tin foil hat design. But off of my hobby horse and back on topic.

Re: Victoria Square Visions
This plan completely ignores the one major problem with victoria sq which most people have said which is cars. No one is going to use a public space which is surrounded by busy roads. I know its ambitious for a car dependent city like adelaide but victoria sq is not going to improve otherwise. The ...

I don't know about you guys but after this childish attack,I feel that the turning point for Adelaide is not far off. Adelaide bashing is getting old and boring IMO considering the city is changing for the better these days.

[APP] Re: #Proposed: Masonic Lodge- Nth Terrace- 17lvl 60m
This rusty metal look is something which the sculptor Richard Serra works with alot. the sculpture which monotonehell posted is one of his works. I think it looks great, minimalist and will be a contrast on our skyline while the rust metal also complements the stone of the masonic lodge

[COM] Re: Victoria Square
Victoria Square is like a black hole in the city, there is nothing there to attract people there. it is little more than an inconvenience for people trying to get from one place to another. rather than being way too optimistic i think realistically and financially possible a car park should be built ...

Can anyone give an update on the international spaceport project at Woomera.
Is it still on track to be operational by the end of the year or has it bitten the dust?
I read in i think it was Mondays The Adevertiser that it was still going ahead but there were some delays. It is supposed to start ...

i just saw a render for this one on channel 7 news. its a little bit shorter than the optus building and is very rectalinear in design. IMO not greatly imaginative in design. similar to CC1 tower with window shades on the northern face. it should be a welcome addition to King william st south, cheers

Re: Mawson Lakes - Not just another suburb
Mawson Lakes is another outstanding example of how the importance of passive design has been disregarded by the government. by implementing a grey watering system DOES NOT make mawson lakes more environmetally friendly as the houses will now consume more energy than a well thought of architecturally ...

extend the tramline past the keswick interstate train station to this development i say. some medium density housing in this area will also make it a more vibrant area. if this happens i might not be so unhappy7 with the location of the kaswick train station

[CAN] Re: #Proposed Waymouth Towers 10 Level Apartments
this develpment looks great. Adelade really desperately needs more curvalinear designs to contrast all the 'box-like' designs we are inundated with. now just recently wev'e seen this along with the currie st development it looks like conservative adelaide will allow it. i think with the near ...

wow this will be a good sized development for that part of the city. i went passed there yesterday thinking it should be redeveloped seeing its very close to the CBD core and is very underutilised. Hopefully it is a well designed building. i'll have to wait and see the renders. cheers
