[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

Are the Clarrie Grimmett gates being replaced? I don't know for sure, but given the heritage concerns, I suspect they're being augmented rather than replaced. Surely they would be building a bigger Clarrie Grimmett gate - no way the current set up would cope with a full house. You guys mean this? h...

Surely the other 2 will be smaller.
Yes, but they won't be tiny by any stretch of the imagination.
The one on the hill is 180m2, the ones between the stands at the other end will be 125m2.
Old replay screen 80m2.

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

Anyone know if the video screens are definitely going to be new ones and if so their size. The reason I ask is I hope they don't just move the old ones from AAMI here..... They haven't and won't move anything from AAMI. Screens will be 2nd-biggest in Australia behind SCG I believe. Bigger than curr...

Um

What?

In what recent sporting event at AO was the scoreboard NOT used???

It's now re-enforced so no it's not falling apart.

Right now it is never used.
Oh yeah.
Cos there's no sport on at the moment given it's a giant building site!

... well my thoughts on that empty Northern end are well documented here .. a real atmosphere killer. This, even before anyone has set foot in the stadium. Your views in no way have a basis in reality at this stage. And remember the northern end won't be empty when there are 2,000 people on the hil...

Dropped in yesterday, and this is the progess as far as I can tell: - The bottom level and middle level of seats on the southern stand are installed - The roof frame on the southern stand is nearing half-way across - it's going to be GINORMOUS! - The beds for the pitches to be dropped are being prep...

[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

from what Ive seen and heard over the years, the English classify the Adelaide test as a must see, far higher than Brisbane and Perth. Sydney and Melbourne would be the most popular for the Barmy Army, which is obvious due to the large amounts of English backpackers, tourists and temp workers livin...

SACA will be lobbying for a Test in the 2014/15 summer. Lobbying hard. They have a number of arguments including our weather, record of big Test crowds, record of good big India Tests, new stadium. In the end though, we have to remember that THERE ARE ONLY FOUR TESTS in the 2014/15 summer. So someon...

Not every capital city in Australia can have an Australia game in a World Cup. They don't play 6 pool games! We've got a warm-up match. Think of the international exposure and focus - India especially, but also Pakistan and more from England. And To be honest Don't we think this may help SACA's argu...

Interesting news that SA has made colourful Barmy Army trumpeter, Billy Cooper, an ambassador for the Adelaide Ashes 2013 Test. He will be paid to promote the Adelaide Ashes Test to potential English followers of the BA. Just wonder if SACA will allow him to play his trumpet at the Adelaide Test. W...
