I think a stop gap measure would be to put traffic lights on the roundabouts at those exits. Just to use during peak hour
Ultimately they need to redesign the double roundabout interchanges into something with a much higher capacity

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Further up the NSM, the Heaslip and the Curtis road exits regularly fill up the merging lanes and back out towards the freeway in peak hour. Has it gotten better in the last couple of years? Up until 2021, the Mark Oliphant College high school zone included areas west of the Northern Expressway, so...

I think I heard this morning that the TBM(s) get built in a big hole, so there's a lot of digging needed before assembly can begin. I imagine that one of them will proceed north from the north portal of the southern tunnel to the south portal of the north tunnel - this could even be how part of the...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn

I bet it would be cheaper to buy a dedicated recovery vehicle that could drive on the O-Bahn rather than installing some boom gate system..

No matter how long the list of stuck cars is the list of successful cars would be longer

Re: M1 South-Eastern Freeway

Why not just install a concrete barrier in the median strip of Cross Rd? Sure, this wouldn't stop traffic heading west on Cross Rd from being hit by an out of control truck, but neither would moving the stop line for the intersection further east. There's probably not enough concrete in all of Sout...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

With the revised extent of the cut and cover portion of the tunnel that was announced a few months ago, there are a few businesses still operating in buildings that will be demolished. The project maps seem to indicate that the OTR is the last one that needs to go, although I've also heard that the...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

If a line to Two Wells is built then a line from Two Wells to Gawler would be pretty good, creating a giant loop north of Adelaide

Isn't the rail lease holder supposed to maintain the line in working condition? If so, it shouldn't be an issue to run a special service.

using Commbanks borrowing calculator with an 8% interest rate they'd let you borrowing 450k on a 100k (pre-tax) salary.. a 163k salary at 8% they'd let you borrow 680k Maybe they're only talking about the actual City of Adelaide and not the suburbs? you cant buy much for 450k these days. What Riverlea needs most urgently is petrol station -preferably with take away food. A couple of weeks ago I had to go to Two Wells running on empty.
Virigina is closer with 3 petrol stations..

Re: Riverlea (Buckland Park) | 12,000 dwellings | $3b

Riverlea Park doesn't need a "metro"......an ordinary suburban train would be suffice. And Riverlea shouldn't be the terminus either....it should be Two Wells ...marking the contiguous end of the Adelaide suburban sprawl. Plan for it now.....reserving the corridor....making any new develo...

How would the tunnel work in regards to petrol stations and underground fuel tanks particularly around St Marys ?
The tunnels would be several meters below any tanks in the ground.. they wouldn't be using TBM's that close to the surface
