[COM] Re: The Switch - 203 North Terrace | 119m | 35 levels | Student Accom

The window to conrete ratio / size of the windows, as well as the uniformity and regularity of the windows and fins, gives me vertical prison vibes.

Really dissapointing outcome IMO considering how beautiful the heritage building at the bottom is.

[U/C] Re: Former LeCornu Redevelopment | Mixed Use

This will be worth the wait. Excpetionally high quality proposal that I am hopefull will really raise the bar for multi-storey residential projects in Adelaide. Once everything is signed it should progress relatively quickly as well.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

That would be fantastic! Let's get our counterargument ready for Team Adelaide's inevitable 'but what about the cars????' statement. Already in that article! “By retaining traffic lanes and all parking bays we will not alienate the majority of people who drive … we can make the precinct welcoming f...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

Gotta admit I have been completely blindsided by the fact that they are proposing demolishing the existing facility and starting again from scratch. They have quite possibly misread the lay of the land in terms of what is going to be pallatable for the community / Council. Even with the retention of...

[U/C] Re: Central Market

The desired look and feel and amenity of the market (including a hospitality school) are all agreeably expressed in the district plan and development principles . Whether they're achieved, we'll have to wait and see a little bit longer. The council is slipping timelines both here and 88 O'Connell (...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Walker responsible for developing the tower, car park and retail and the government responsible for the open plaza areas? Could the landscaping in the new tower/retail render just be generic, even though in the past the render has included the plaza designs we've ...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

I had heard that there had been some changes to the original plaza design but I didn't realise they were this extensive... what a disaster. Bland, unimaginative, soulless.. absolutely nothing to differentiate it from 1000s of other plazas around the world. Really disappointing. Oh, and I doubt the t...

[APP] Re: 29 Twin Street | 124m | 38lvls | Student accom

I still don't understand one thing - are the "reflective glass panels" windows? Ah scratch that question - page 16 shows the "full height glazing" in the floor plan. That should look quite good Yes the floor to ceiling windows make this a winning design whether they change the c...

BUILT has advertised for tenders for a GAWLER PLACE HOTEL.
there are plans for an existing building, roughly opposite McHenry St, to be turned into a boutique hotel. Think it is limited to level 1 and basement refurbishment.

[COM] Re: Adelaidean | 11 Frome Street | 135m | 37 Levels | Mixed Use | New tallest

Because our current tallest was built in the 80s Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Perth's tallest building was built in 1992, Sydney's in 1981. What's your point? If this lost height, there is another building going up a block away that would still replace Westpac House as our tallest, and there ...

Safe to assume that the Adelaide Contemporary will be off the table now, as well as a metropolitan tram network... any other big things that won't proceed development wise?
