Yes exactly like this Shuz! Southern Cross Station has both ends opened up, I think the same could be done in Adelaide.

Opening up the western end of Adelaide Railway Station
With the development of the Biomedical Precint on North Tce, I think it would be great to open up the western end of Adelaide Railway Station as an Entrance/Exit for the station. I'm thinking stairs and escalators leading to a newly constructed pedestrian bridge that runs parallel to the Montefiore ...

[COM] Re: Oaklands Crossing
Does anyone else think it's silly that they are removing the level crossing but adding traffic lights because of new turning lanes and pedestrian crossings? I feel like in a few years time these lights will cause just as much of a head-ache as the level crossing did (because of population increase)....

Rundle Mall extension
Who else thinks it would be a good idea to turn both Rundle Street and Hindley Street into malls, closing them to traffic, so they become like an extension of Rundle Mall? Hindley St could be closed from King William Rd through to Morphett St. Rundle St could be close the whole way, except for acros...

Re: Anzac Highway Vision
I fully see that haha But in 20-30 years, Glenelg's population may have grown dramatically and also with the vision I posted about, there may enough demand for another tram line to Glenelg

Anzac Highway Vision
This is by no means a priority in terms of development in the state, but I've always envisioned Anzac Highway as a residential/social/tourist strip, from the city to Glenelg. I picture mid-rise (even some high-rise) apartments and hotels, maybe some offices as well, along the whole of Anzac Hwy, wit...

Adelaide 2020
I think Adelaide is a great place to live now, but I just thought I'd say that I think, by 2020, with all the development and changes going on, Adelaide will be quite a vibrant place. In terms of the city, but also metro areas like Bowden, Port Adelaide, Glenelg, etc. As long as we increase our empl...

[COM] Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Overpass
This is the reply I received when I emailed the Department of Planning, Transport & Infrastructure regarding the design for the Oaklands Crossing Upgrade. "As you know the project funding was announced on 7 June and the project is in early planning. Constructability review and final designs...

Re: Deregulation of Shop Trading Hours
Deregulate shopping hours. Allow all shops be they in a suburban shopping centre or in a shopping strip in the city or a small group of shops in whoop whoop, to stay open as long a they like. Those that can turn a profit by staying open later, or staying open most of the night, will do so. Those wh...

[COM] Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Overpass
In an ideal world, I would have done Morphett Road as an overpass, Diagonal Road as an underpass, with the rail line at grade. I agree with this 100%, Shuz. And Norman, the intersection upgrade I was thinking of would be, at a minimum: Remove any pedestrian lights, and don't create a right hand tur...

[COM] Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Overpass
so it most definitely will reduce congestion. The idea is not to turn Morphett and Diagonal Rds into freeways - there will still be significant pedestrian movements that need to be catered for I thought the main reason for upgrading the Oaklands crossing was to reduce congestion? It may reduce it i...

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport
Does anyone know why, when traveling on the Seaford line, the air-con is switched off between Hallet Cove Beach and Lonsdale? It's just for a few seconds, but it happens every time and I've always wanted to know why.

[COM] Re: PRO: Oaklands Rail Overpass
Great news! But what about removing the lights where Diagonal and Morphett Rd meet? And removing the pedestrian crossing lights? Plus the new design looks like it adds another set of lights for people to turn right onto Morphett Rd heading north, which will actually add congestion. I predict in a fe...
