[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway
The landscaping at the start of the trench at Hindmarsh is all still pretty green..trees are pretty matured now as well. Crazy that they kept this section all greened up only to be ripping it up a few short years later, while further up the trench route it's heavily neglected if not outright ignore...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway
The updated detailed project map highlights so many flaws with this motorway design, I could write an essay. Plus I cant wait for all that passive green space to be turned into it's true roadside form - lots of bitumen and 20mm roadbase, jazzed up with a few dead and dying coral gums. Exactly what ...

Those spaces are tiny. Dam. I've lived in one a little smaller than the studios in that plan. Yeah they're small, but they're dorms. That's just what they are. You fit a desk and single bed in there with just enough room to stub your toe. Every. Time. You "live" outside of the place. The ...

Have I missed something? Wasn't the West Thebarton Hotel supposed to be retained?

Re: Salvation Army - Whitmore Square
If it is going to be left empty at least they made the effort to make the site look vaguely respectable. Better than the derelict eyesore that was there.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
It looks like a fit-out might be underway at the largest of the empty retail tenancies in Adelaide Railway Station (the bit that's been used as an ad-hoc gallery for the last few years). It doesn't cover the whole stretch of empty space here, only the half closest to the Guardsman. I was hoping for ...

I think it's got a slight whiff of the Eleanor Harrald building about it:

Isn't that what has been discussed on the first page of this topic, or has something else been removed?

I don't think that it looks that dissimilar to the original render:

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments
Site clearance for the new RAA Technical Centre on Port Road is nearly complete. I must say I've been equally impressed and unimpressed with the demolition on this site - all of stockpiled material in these photos is the remains of the old factory which has been crushed on-site and used to infill th...

That's nice to see. I can't believe they didn't do this with the Adelaidean/Crowne Plaza - a small touch that I think would have made a big difference to the overall look of the building.

As keen observers in a neighboring building we are definitely perplexed to understand what is happening here. Small black metal panels then cladding went up, now cladding and small black panels are being removed! What the!?? Anyone? One thing that struck me is that these appear to be interlocking p...

Some interesting (well, to me anyway) history of this building:

It seems a bit weird to think that in its heyday over 1200 people worked in this windowless box.
