Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

. Yesterday I had a chance to visit ML and went to the station. Not much happening there (no trains, no workers)… only some markings along the line toward the city where they will lay foundation for the masts. Maybe more luck next time... Two photos taken on Sunday, 2/8/2020 Toward the City https://...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Thanks for the photos. It's a real shame that they didn't renovate Islington station while they were at it. Pedestrian access is poor and it can be blocked for 10+ minutes while freight trains use the standard gauge line. There should be grade separated exits and good access to Regency Rd bus stops...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

. These buses or whatever we will call them or classify, as far as I know are gaining good traction in Europe, particularly in Switzerland. Maybe we can call them – Ebus or Lightram like in Bern. In Switzerland they already running in three cities, and two cities are waiting for their delivery + bi...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

. As our transport minister does not like trams maybe during his "home away stay" he will start thinking about something like a new Brisbane fully electric bus. The city of Bern has something like that… (beside trams) In a nutshell - Contracts awarded for Brisbane’s $1b all-electric Metro ...

I found this by chance – State Transport Authority, Rail Map, 1980. It’s interesting to see how it was 40 years ago.

I'd hate to be in Stephen's shoes , the Darlington wall incident, faulty trains. Its going to be a easy fight at the next State Election for SA Labor Party
For something like that to happen I am afraid that numbers of the news corp. watchers/readers/believers needs to be a much lower.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

What an utterly redicilous way to launch this long awaited project. No decency and respect to the community. Was there even an official launch or did they just hit the start button? However, it's good to finally see it in operation. I agree completely. One more thing, "I like" this signag...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Lots of action all along North Terrace this evening September 2017 and we still don't have a launch date for September 2018. The German experts fixed the last problem by August 3rd, so how much more driver training and stress testing can they do before it opens? Maybe they are waiting for 17 March ...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

I am skeptical about an exclusive tram line from the city to the airport with limited tram stops. Do we know home many passengers use J line for the airport transfer? From my experience this line is only busy during the rush hour but only few, if any will enter or exit at the airport. My family use...
