Re: Food Thread
Actually, for that matter, anyone know good vegan places to eat? I'd love to know places that are affordable and in the city (I'll be at Adelaide Uni next year) that do a decent lunch :) Good vegan food is fanastic, bad vegan food is disgusting. Vegan = that place upstairs on Rundle st that I canno...

Re: How walkable is your neighbourhood?
ah well - 28 for my local, but considering I am a 4 minute walk from belair national park i would have classed that as VERY walkable, guess the Americans behind that page do not share my taste in walking. For me being able to walk just minutes and be in a "wilderness" is a big plus - beats...

Re: Large Hadron Collider
I am happy that all has so far gone well and hope that we learn lots from this, however, when I first heard about this it reminded me of a pc game I used to play called Forsaken - check the intro here:

Re: Perth's Waterfront Redevelopment
awesome - that looks fantastic and will rival any harbour I have ever seen in the world. Of course there are bound to be issues and hiccups along the way, but such a grand plan is not-so-subtle hint to the rest of this country. onya Perth - my second favourite city

[COM] Re: #Approved: Rundle Convergence
Anyone that amde it to the Big day Out this year, and ventured into the Boiler Room will probably recall the cubic light display that was on show there - apparently it's called a Quad Cubatron - and I can only hope that the Rundle Lantern will approach what that thing showed is possible. Of course I...

I hadn't been online for a while, for various reasons, but on seeing the new front page I was/am very impressed. It looks great and having some major news articles on the front really improves the effectiveness of the site.

Re: Solar cells at home - photovoltaic love
I would eventually like to install solar cells or a wind turbine on the roof. But due to price constraints, the contribution that i have made as of yet is to switch our energy source to 'green energy'. i understand turbines to be fairly unsuitable for domestic use? too big/heavy for most structures...

Solar cells at home - photovoltaic love
The subject is often alluded to but I haven't seen a dedicated thred for it yet. I have two solar panels on my roof (pre-existing when we bought), but they are currently not registering any power return to the grid. There are people looking at this for me but I would be interested to know how many o...

Re: Article: Tour goes global
i lament the loss of the F1 at least as much as anyone (only missed one race while it was here - the kids in meb just don't do it justice) but i am over it and i think we should all be aswell. it was a great event but it has been gone for over 10 years now so let it go! :2cents: the tour going pro i...

[COM] Re: What next for Victoria Square?
well I agree that our city needs a focus, but lets not use fed sq as a template or we will just get a derivative of the eyesore that is melbourne's "heart". Can I suggest using the corner of pulteney and rundle - going ahead with the big video screen and removing traffic from that corner t...

ffs I doubt them both. There is a big picture that no-one is looking at, all these pollies are only looking to spend $$$ when there is something in it for them (ie votes). I think we all recognise that this is vote-buying stunt (can you say marginal seat?), why do we then worry about the little deta...
