Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Interesting no one here all day has mentioned Qatar's interest in acquiring a 25% stake in Virgin Australia. For those not up to speed here's this mornings article in the FT. Qatar Airways agrees to buy 25% stake in Virgin Australia Australia’s second-largest carrier would return to long-haul flyin...

[U/C] M2 North-South Motorway
Had to go along the freeway this morning for a work meeting going the opposite direction in peak hour. My God, I could not believe how backed up it gets. All 3 lanes were a parking lot between Ashwin Parade and the Outer Harbor train line bridge in the morning. And in the evening, it was backed up ...

Or SE Freeway link to NS Motorway? This. Link the SE Freeway via a tunnel under Cross Road Exactly - it would be a massive waste to just bury the TBMs. I can't beleive DIT could be rationally considering such a stupidly wasteful option. Why on earth would they not reserve them for use on future pro...

Was about to post the same thing, with 3 TBM's they should start looking at rail infrastructure next. Not an expert by any means, however my understanding is that the TBMs get buried on site as is too complex/costly to remove / reuse and have been designed for a specific purpose? Hopefully once Torrens to Darlington begins the government will set to work planning the next big infrastructure project so we can retain the skills gained from this project and roll that expertise over to the next project. Likewise with the group that will be grade separating the tram line. A cont...

Re: Salvation Army - Whitmore Square
Correct me if I am wrong but I believe dsriggs is referring to the federation cottage on the corner. Its a single level home with quite a sizable yard. The last time I saw it in person it had extensive fire damage to its rear roof. Hopefully it can be restored and still used as a home. Well when I ...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million
Re height / not mentioned to be the tallest;
This will stand at 149m, while the proposed Freemasons tower will stand at 183m anyway.
Obviously that depends on if / when either are built and in what final form anyway.

“In exchange for the increased height, Walker Corporation will provide $40 million worth of benefits to taxpayers, likely including reserving the four bottom levels for "public civic space". https://www.9news.com.au/national/adelaide-festival-plaza-second-tower-plans-unveiled/c2a7c954-5a3c...

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD
agree with sentiments above about townhouses as a poor use of space at a site like this. They should be building 3 bedroom appartments, however not in the traditional sense where they are built as more luxurious with a price to match, just liveable and affordable. It shouldn’t be that much more cos...
