Nice snap there Nort! Are you a helicopter pilot?? Lovely green situated along the dry creeks banks there. Hooray for Bolivar recycled water!
Now what is happening with that block of land bordering Main Street, university Pde, Garden Tce and Light com? ?

I wouldn't go that far, looks more like something from Mawson Lakes.

Elizabeth has been earmarked a future TOD site
Though I can't find any details on this proposal on either the local news outlet and City of Playford.
This may be what Crawf was referring to in the first post:
Elizabeth eyes Copenhagen-style makeover
SHOPPING and business precincts in the US and Denmark will help guide a transformation of the Elizabeth City Centre.
Playford Council has released new concept plans to guide development of its premier shopping hub over the next 30 years.

Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty said securing Elizabeth’s position as Adelaide’s second CBD was vital to the region’s future.
He said the approval of an eight storey office and apartment building on the corner of Philip Hwy and Ridley Rd last December was a sign that developers were keen to invest in Elizabeth.

Is that posible given the proximity of Parafield?? I can see the red lights on to ofthe UniSA Planetarium from Golden Grove.
Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

When I say taller I don't mean anything crazy, more like 5-6 stories bulking out the existing density.
I'm a student pilot out at Parafield and given the height of buildings that already exist in the Mawson Lakes university campus I can't see more buildings at that height giving any problems.

Thanks Nort for your perspective as a student pilot. I would love to see a 5 or 6 story appartment block near the ML town centre, but I cant help but think it would be more beneficial for Salisbury council to persue a TOD style 'densification' (if that's even a word?) of the Area around John Street in Salisbury adjacent Salisbury interchange. If they can gentrify it a little and remove the stigma of the area it just might work.

I recall seeing towards the end of last year that Salisbury council does see that type of thing happening in the long term, can't remember the source though.

Mawson Lakes really needs to lift its game in the environmental and amenity departments. Currently, there is very little entertainment for locals, particularly young locals - if they want such entertainment, they have to leave the site. Take a cinema for example, the closest one is located at Tea Tree Plaza, or failing that, Reading in Elizabeth.
It's also a well-kept secret that Mawson Lakes is by far the most energy-hungry suburb in Adelaide, and probably ranks quite high in all of Australia (if not at the top) for energy consumption levels. A combination of factors lead to this, but the sole culprits are housing density and design, along with land use.
Our state, our city, our future.

Good point, but there is also Hoyts at Salisbury.

How wouild housing density increase energy consumption above normal suburb levels? The only way I can think of is increasing people's propensity to use tumble dryers, but I wouldn't've thought Mawson Lakes dense enough for that to be a factor.
