"China's Ghost Cities" SBS Dateline

Did anyone else see this?

Giant malls almost empty, millions of apartments empty.

It's a major worry. Especially since a lot of our exports are Chinese industry related.

A reminder that the "if we build it they will come" attitude is rubbish.

Really quite fascinating!

I'd much rather the slow, but, sustainable growth of Adelaide than the ludicrous, unsustainable growth of China.

And my god, how many buildings are there that have literally Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V onto the landscape?

Very interesting, and very worrying.

Really interesting and when you consider how big of a place China actually is, it would not be surprising to see how much places are abandoned and actually have no human life form lurking around.

Though they are not automatically to be considered as ghost cities, I think that they are really interesting and would require a lot of attention like that.
