Re: ## General Public Transport thread

I tried the new bus lanes on Grenfell/Currie st this evening, it was certainly much faster, usually takes 30min to get from Light Sq to the Obahn around 5pm but tonight took less than half that time. Cars looked banked up a long way and they were hardly moving

Now they need to fix the trams by giving them priority at traffic lights so they dont have to slow down or stop. Also, why do the trams crawl along through the south parklands? it's straight track, and trams used to go fast along there, but for some reason after the upgrades with; new tracks, rails, trams and new overhead power they are really slow. :?

Got mine on Thursday night. It's been working a treat! Only got one ride left on my last multitrip - hopefully I don't have to buy any more.

I wonder if we'll get invited to trial the online platform once they get that sorted

Does anybody else think it's a bit of a security issue displaying the balance left on your card? I'm not sure i want broadcast on the train that I have $63.12 left on my card to everyone on the train.

Perhaps just show the balance when it's getting low? Not sure of other options...

I took the trams and noticed that issue immediately

I could see exactly what people had left simply by standing behind them

got an email yesterday from the metrocard team at the DPTO
Hello Metrocard Champions,

New Adelaide Railway Station barrier gate installation update!

Fourteen out of the twenty-six NEW metrocard barrier gates will be operational from next week
an attached PDF shows that the new gates do validate your ticket or card and you must validate again on the trains, so nothing has really changed just your 2 hours of travel starts at the gates.

Except again, provision for two section tickets seems to have been forgotten. Barriers at the entry need to only check that you have a valid ticket, not take a ride off them.
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

True?

Bit average if you run for a train, miss it, and the next one isn't for another hour?

This!

They really should extend the transfer window to three hours until they can deliver frequent public transport services.
