not that this is the greatest issue in the world, but why do the new ticket machines do a little dance with your ticket. The old machines were quick, the new ones do a little in and out and back in jiggle and it takes longer for a line up of people to get on the bus. Crikeys, I think I might write a letter to Adelaide now

I noticed this - I think they re-read the strip after it is written. Or maybe it likes to play the "here take it..." *snatches it away* game that is so popular with primary school bullies. I mentioned that there is an inadequate number of validators on the 2000 (jumbo) trains. 1 validator per set of double doors doesn't cut the cake and isn't enough to make boarding speedy which is half the point of the project.ChillyPhilly wrote:What did people here put for the last question?

They're likely to be around a bit longer than that. But it's not as if validator installation is extremely complicated. Does anyone know, if there has ever been a consideration for a direct North/South train route without the need to change at Adelaide station? I would have thought this inexpensive to achieve. ie could a diesel train be run from say Oaklands stopping at Goodwood and continue on to the Northern line (limited stops) instead of into Adelaideand perhaps terminate at Salisbury? Passengers from the South wanting to get to the North could change to this train at Oklands. Passengers from Belair could change at Goodwood.Perhaps a platform could be built near the old gaol as a transferr for the Outer Harbor line to the North /South line. Those wishing to go further North could then change at Salisbury for points further North. It is not uncommon at Adelaide station to watch commuters changing between platforms only to sit in a parked train awaiting departure.
