And the former HS/Cheap As Chips space could likely become a Spotlight.
TRU at the plaza is safe, Despite being one of the few stores left in TT Plus they are holding out for the TTP exapansion as TRU will then become incorporated into the TTP mall and will see far more business than they currently are.
The rumours have always been that that Woolworths were going to be located where Cheap and Chips/Harris Scarfe previously were if and when the TTP expansion eventually happens.

+1 TRU TT+ won't be moving any time soon.
They got smaller due to the planned connection between TTP and TT+ I don't know if there was any plan to expand again after the connection.
The entire area where they used to occupy is totally empty. I'm surprised to see Westfield sit on such a large vacant space for so long.

WESTFIELD has remained tight-lipped on its $200 million redevelopment of Tea Tree Plaza, with development approval set to lapse next month if work does not begin.
The retail giant revealed plans six years ago to build 95 shops and a multi-storey carpark at the Modbury centre.
The proposal was approved by Tea Tree Gully Council in October 2006, with the deadline for the project starting already being extended once.
Last week, Westfield did not return calls and emails from the Leader Messenger when asked if the project would proceed before the June 6 deadline.
The company had previously stated economic conditions and retailer demand would determine when work would start.
Caffe Buongiorno co-owner Sam Raslan urged Westfield to proceed with the plan.
Mr Raslan said the proposal to join the Tea Tree Plus section of the centre, where his business is located, with the main centre, was needed to boost foot traffic and keep businesses afloat.
“There are a lot of empty shops here now and no major tenancies apart from Radio Rentals and Toys R Us,” Mr Raslan said.
“There have been a lot of retailers that have gone from Tea Tree Plus over the past three years.
“Obviously the more foot traffic we get through the door (of Tea Tree Plus) the greater volumes to get more people to come into the cafe.
“We could do with a lot more.”
Mr Raslan said a major supermarket or department store tennant in Tea Tree Plus would also improve business.
Rebel Sport assistant manager Luke Moore agreed with Mr Raslan’s comments.
“We feel the same way,” Mr Moore said.
“We mainly get destination shoppers, who know we’re in here, so extra foot traffic would be good.”
The council confirmed Westfield could not proceed with the project after June 6, unless it was granted an extension to its approval.
They have to do something soon. TT+ is a waste of space. The empty shops and the
massive area which Toys R Us used to occupy is not being used at all.

It's about time Westfield should get their act together and not give that upgrade a finger prod of doom.

More shops are moving out of TT+ into TTP.
The current one to be moving is the Jewelry shop. It is moving next to k-mart.
TT+ is going to end up empty at this rate. I hope they are being forced to move because of the redevelopment and that its not just dying.
I know there have been surveyors and people taking photos at TT+ so hopefully there is finally some movement.

Tea Tree Plaza upgrade still on table

WESTFIELD has been given another 12 months to begin work on its $200 million Tea Tree Plaza Shopping Centre upgrade.
The retail giant revealed plans to build 95 new shops and a multi-story carpark six years ago, the Leader Messenger reports.
But with development approval set to lapse last week, Westfield was given an extra year to start work by Tea Tree Gully Council.
It is the second time the deadline for starting the project has been extended.
Westfield spokeswoman Julia Clarke said the project was still in the “pre-development” stage.
“Westfield’s intention (is) to start the project when it believes all the necessary conditions are right,” Ms Clarke said.
Ms Clarke would not elaborate on what the “necessary conditions” were

Heard an ad on Nova that Caffe Bongiourno will be relocating at the end of September and that will make way for the work to take place.

Here's hoping, I took my son into Toys'R'us a couple of weeks ago and Tea Tree Plus was like a ghost town half the stores were empty and literally no-one was there. I am not sure how Rebel Sport and Toys R us are even turning enough of a profit in that location to remain open. I would dare say that unless something is done within the next 12-24 months both Rebel Sport and TRU will eventually leave.

Tea Tree Plus should never have been built in the first place. It amazes me that the council could approve a shopping centre right next door to a shopping centre that already had a shopping centre right next door to it!

A new Sanity CD store is opening where GAME used to be. Cold Rock Ice Creamery has closed its doors recently. And now, something is happening where Cheap As Chips used to be!

Heard an ad on the radio today as well, saying that a Cotton On store is soon/has recently opened in the TT+ center. Being a large company, I'd say they did enough research into this, and could have afforded a store in TTP if they wished. So maybe this center isn't entirely dead yet. (Unless I misheard)
Looking forward to a free-flowing Adelaide!
