+1 for the coins. I like 'em!
It's = it is; its = everything else.
You're = you are; your = belongs to.
Than = comparative ("bigger than"); then = next.

-1 for the coins. They may have worked with the old paving (just), but they'll just look completely tacky and out of place with the new cleaner paving and sharper street furniture.

While I don't think the coins will look right in the new style paving, if they do put them in they need to do it during the day. I haven't had a decent week night's sleep in four months due to the overnight works. @.@

I think it's a tad tacky, but it impacts me little either way. Obviously some people get a kick out of it, so no point hating on it. Big meh.

Thanks for the Notes, David.
I fully support the No Smoking Incentive Iniative for reduction in fees for eateries with outdoor dining providing no-smoking tables for those of us who enjoy alfresco dining but have been forced indoors or, worse still, to abandon dining out due to smokers. Kudos to the establishments that have signed up.

Is there a current, publicly accessible, list of these cafés, restaurants in the city that provide no smoking outdoor dining experiences? It would be good to peruse the list and show support through patronage. The no smoking factor is very high on my list when deciding where to dine.

It's great for public health to see more public places and events becoming smoke-free.

It's time to make the whole city smoke free!! there is a city-wide dry zone, so why not make a city-wide smoke free zone?

Hi Vee,

I too would like to see the whole city made smoke-free in all public places and I think the State Government (Minister John Hill) might be moving that way over the next few years.

I will see if I can persuade the ACC to publish a list of the eateries that take up the no-smoking option. It may have to wait until the coming licence renewal period cuts in.

I definitely agree about Rundle Mall but the rest of the city?... that's overkill, and this is from a non smoker. You're never going to eradicate smoking. It's always going to be around, just as the same as marijuana, speed, ecstasy etc.

Also smoking has no instant side affects that will cause harm to anyone, other than the smell ofcourse. While alcohol can cause some major issues when excessive drinking is involved, eg violence and crime.

Is that bold bit a joke? Smoking is the most selfish vice you can have. A single cigarette impacts those around you, whilst a single beer does not. Yes I know there are major issues with excessive alcohol use, but to say that the instant impact of smoking is nothing is ludicrous.

David, just with regards to the Parklands Authority logo, I seem to recall a branding exercise being carried out for the Parklands as a whole last year of which we're yet to see the results. Might we expect to see it soon?

The Parklands are not part of the dry zone.
