[COM] Armada Arndale (Redevelopment) | $200m
[COM] Re: U/C: Centro Arndale Redevelopment - $35m
I hope this influences other shopping centres around Adelaide to upgraded i.e. Hollywood Plaza.

Linking the cinema to the rest of the center would be great, and probably increase visitors.Centro Arndale wrote:Although the Coles mall is not part of the current redevelopment, all options are currently being considered for any future proposed activity for this section of the centre.
Is there any plan or interest to re-open the second story of Harris Scarfe and/or expand it?

Re-opening the space above Harris Scarfe would certainly be a great outcome for the centre; options for this space may be considered along with any potential future redevelopment plans for the mall between Coles and Woolworths.
Thanks again for your feedback.

Perhaps a food court, Arndale is in desperate need of one of these.
Better still now that the centre stage has gone, put a food court there, theres already two major food outlets there, nice high ceilings, open area for tables, this would be a great use for this open space.

Well it would certainly be an easy way to create a food court without spending very much. The existing shops facing into that space could be moved into the nextly built shops near Big W, and a couple of food kiosks could be added. It wouldn't be perfect but given the financial constraints Centro is obviously under it would be a very good medium term solution.
Great idea! I hope Centro gives this serious consideration!

Quick update (since there hasn't been one on Arndales website for weeks):
- Floor in mall near Big W has been replaced with new modern granite floor, like most modern malls have. Nice and stylish mostly white with some various shades of grey in simple patterns. Not flushed yet but will be nice and shiny when it is.
- New ceiling in and painted in front of Big W and right down the mall from Big W to centre court. No new lighting in yet, just the old lights temporarily hung from the new ceiling.
- Big W internal works started in earnest, and progressing fast. New entry completed with new checkout are and the whole front end of the store. More work happening elsewhere. I expect will be complete by mid-late November.
- Work finally started on replacing the Woolworths entry, progressing very slowly as they're only working on it at night. However the glass has been removed from the outer doors and the sign has been removed from above the entry, so it shouldn't be long before the rest of the structure of the old doors is gone (good riddance to it)! No evidence of construction of the new entry though as yet.
- Painting of the new Woolworths extension now happening. No internal changes to Woolies yet other than the signs saying that it's happening.
- New Big W loading dock complete, except for the walls that will face onto the road.
- New carpark now surfaced near the Big W extension, and ready for line-marking.

[COM] Re: U/C: Centro Arndale Redevelopment - $35m
Thanks for all the suggestions, comments and feedback regarding a food court facility at the centre; all will be taken on board. In the coming weeks we will also have some new take away food tenants to announce!
It has been a very busy time at the centre in recent weeks, and as Pushbutton has already noted there are many changes now visual; with some major mile stones set to occur throughout October and November.
Here is an update on some key events scheduled, it’s an exciting time ahead for the centre!
NEW MALL ENTRY OPENING OCTOBER - the new mall entry by Big W will be open for public access before the end of October. The entry will be home to Crossroads, Mr Rental, Knick Knacks and Ed Harry, plus a brand new look Independent Sports store.
BIG W NEW LOOK STORE - the new store entry is now open as well as self serve check outs. Keep an eye out for further significant changes to the shop fit throughout October and November.
NEW FACILITIES – the following new facilities are set to open before Christmas; a new Lift in front of Big W, a Parent’s Room behind Lowes, and travelators to the basement car park by Gloria Jean’s.
MORE CAR PARKING FROM OCTOBER - additional car parks are expected to be open on the eastern side of the centre by the end of October, in line with the opening of the new mall entry by Big W.
BASEMENT CAR PARK - the Basement Car Park entry (off former Arndale St) is expected to re-open by the end of October.
WOOLWORTHS MALL ENTRY - work has officially commenced on the mall entry by Woolworths; however please note that the entry will remain open as we build a brand new look space. Woolworths supermarket will also continue to trade as per usual.

Thanks for the photo update. Didn't realize the eastern entry came out that far from the existing center

Presumably the steel posts shown outside the Woolworths expansion will suppose some sort of fence. Hopefully it will be a very stylish looking fence that also won't get covered in graffitti. I'm wondering what sort of design this will be.

The redevelopment has reached an exciting milestone today with the opening of the new Mall Entry by Big W! Plus the car park outside the entry offers in excess of 200 new car bays.

Centro is apparently being renamed to Federation Centers?
So Federation Arndale?
So Federation Arndale?

I wonder if they've surveyed customers to see how they would perceive such a name.
Personally I don't think it would portray the right image at all.
