1.Costs-including extra crew
2.Extra delays to normal road traffic caused by longer time of boom gates being down.

Longer travelling times for rail commuters
PUBLIC transport rail passengers will face up to 40 minutes a day in extra travelling time when buses are used to cope with the closure of train lines from January.
New timetables for the substitute services for 2013 will be available from the adelaidemetro.com.au website from Monday and in hard copy form from stations at information centres the next day.

Hills residents are pushing for the Belair line to remain open next year, at least to Mitcham, with shuttle buses operating between mitcham & the city. Not sure if that makes sense, but that's what they are asking for...
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Buses will ferry train passengers from inner city train stations to North Tce during the month-long closure of the Adelaide Railway Station from January 2 until February 3.
Buses will also be used during the nine-month closure of the Noarlunga and Tonsley lines from January to replace sleepers.
The Belair line will be closed for the construction of a rail underpass at Goodwood until mid-2013 and passengers will be bussed into the city.
The State Transport Department said up to 20 minutes travel time will be added each way when passengers travel by substitute bus from Belair or Noarlunga during the line closures.

Called the A-City Class 4000, the trains will be the most modern in the country, including the first rail vehicle to meet stringent new international crash specifications as found in Europe and Great Britain.
Under a supply and maintenance contract with Bombardier Transportation Australia, 22 three-car units will be delivered.
The A-City will seat around 240 passengers with standing room for another 300.
The wide-body train will provide more room for passengers and a host of other features, including:
- safety CCTV covering the rear, front and interior
- high capacity air-conditioning to suit Adelaide’s winter and summer
- disability access compliance with wheelchair spaces and access ramps
- permanently coupled three car sets, with walk-through access between railcars
- double leaf saloon doors for quick entry and exit
- passenger emergency intercoms at each doorway
- maximum speed of 110 kph.
Once delivered next year, the first A-City trains will be subjected to an intensive on-track test and evaluation process in Adelaide prior to services commencing.
