The first one clearly has 5 lanes on the southbound off ramp of which 3 continue onto Panalatinga Road.
The secon one is less clear on the number of lanes, but the centre island is being removed and that doesn't look to be in the way of the 3 lanes going onto Panalatinga Road.

The central median on the second image on the off ramp however has the two innermost southbound lanes removed, so, in that sense, the two images conflict.

Ah yes, you're right, thanks for that. I didn't notice the 5 lanes, I thought it was 3 based on the white arrows. So it will just be an almost right angle turn off; I can live with that. Thanks :)
And I did notice the island removed, I just thought it was ineffective with the new layout.
Looking forward to a free-flowing Adelaide!

DPTI wrote: Southern Expressway Weekend Closures

The Southern Expressway will be closed from:
  • 6.00am Saturday 12 January to 8.00 pm Sunday 13 January 2013
  • 6.00am Saturday 19 January to 8.00 pm Sunday 20 January 2013
The closures are necessary for the relocation and installation of temporary barriers and bridge works. The bridge works will include the erection of new girders at both Seacombe Road and Beach Road and preparatory works for new pedestrian bridges and the Reynella overpass bridge.

Whilst the expressway is closed additional works will also be undertaken, including:
  • wall demolition at Beach and Elizabeth Roads
  • earthworks haulage along the expressway and construction of new haulage access points
  • installation of new concrete barriers south of Honeypot Road and preparation works for new concrete barriers between Sherriffs and O’Sullivans Beach Roads

Hooray, more weekend closures! (not sarcasm; I think it's great, with all the progress that can be done during the closure).

It's good to see they've got the steel beams ready now, would be great if they sourced them from a local factory! Looking forward to my drive down on Monday afternoon to see their new progress :)

Some of the new steel beams have been laid at Seacombe Road this week. Noticed about 4 beams stretched out from the existing bridge, out of what looks like it might be about a dozen. At this stage it looks like they'll have this bridge open on time (February, according to the adjusted 'notice' signs).

The crane is down at Seacombe Road, and all the beams are installed. I got a couple of photos yesterday, but from so far away, its a little hard to see.

Notice came through Today, that the O'Sullivan Beach Rd Bridge wont be open at the end of Feb, Now saying late March.

Driving past it everyday, I didn't think it would be open by the end of Feb. The Western abutment has only just been completed last week.

And as i typed this Yesterday, guess what happened today. Driving home tonight saw 3 Beams installed. :)

Elsewhere on the Duplication, The Sturt River bridge now has the Beams over the river installed, crews are excavating from the Seacombe Rd Bridge to the first cutting in the Darlignton Escarpment ( The first Hill is the only major hill through the escarpment left now). Crews working on the new central barrier at the top of the hill near Majors rd. The New Reynella On ramp embankment is taking shape ( No signs of the bridge work yet thou). A bit further along crew are extending the embankment the carries the Expressway through the Field river valley. The Moore Rd Bridge, now has half the New center support in place, but strangely has had the formwork taken down :?:. At the Sheriffs Rd Entry/ Exits, the new Southbound Exit is clearly visible near Sheriffs Rd.

I got told today that the Majors rd Bridge closes on the 13th March. (i haven't looked at the DPTI site yet to confirm, as it doesn't load on my phone  ).

The O"Sullivan Beach Rd bridge now has all beams in place and the re enforcing all laid, A DPTI letterbox drop this week claims the Bridge should be open by Easter :applause:

Another closure next weekend, to complete the Lander Road overpass, installing the walls.
As the email I received says, Lander road will be closed to traffic "Saturday March 16 to Monday March 17."
The PDF (with correct dates) I received is attached.
Interestingly, they've waited until the Majors Road closure, so this will not be an available detour.

As for the Seacombe Road bridge, seems to be running pretty smoothly here already. And Sturt Road/Marion Road has definately improved. I was there the other night just before 5PM and I drove without a single stop to the turning lane, and was the 3rd car in line turning right. About a dozen cars were turning from Sturt to Diagonal.

So motorists travelling from Chandlers Hill to Hallett Cove will have to go via Young Street

Yepp that's your only option unless you want to go up Flagstaff Road and down Seacombe Road. Both are equally inconvenient though...
