I live in Clovelly park and no Poles or wires around here haha Are you sure it was the right suburb? I haven't seen any work since it closed last year.Colen001 wrote:I'm fairly sure its almost finished. When I was down that way the other week there were poles everywhere and nice new track at least at Clovelly Park anyway. As for the Tonsley line being closed, with the Tonsley development going on (even if Flinders pull out) its still going to be a huge project with the train being one of the key transport options.

Sleepers may have been replace where they remove the turnouts at Tonsley mid last year.Ben wrote:I live in Clovelly park and no Poles or wires around here haha Are you sure it was the right suburb? I live 100m from Mitchell Park station (the one closest to Clovelly Park Primary School) poles extend from the southern end of that platform right through to Tonsley and were erected late last year.
If you didn't notice them, you probably didn't notice the new conduits for signalling and communication cables that were installed around may last year.
Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
I only see the line when I cross Celtic avenue a few times a day and nothing visable has happened there (that I could see). At this point in time there is no need for me to go up the line but i'd like to start using it when it opens.
Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
Yeah it was the Mitchell Park station which I had a look at a few weeks ago. Noticed they haven't continued towards Ascot Park yet though, however did see a few lying around the place just waiting to go up. It will all happen soon enough

Is this enough proof to stop those people saying there are no poles?

These are pits that they installed early in the closure.

This is a photo from November 2012 of them installing the poles. It was taken close to the Alawoona Ave crossing.

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
This is good to see. I am VERY nervous about the future of 1. Tonsley and 2. Grange lines under a possible future Liberal government, despite redevelopements in the associated areas. I hope my fears prove to be wrong.
Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
They definately look like poles.
I wonder if he photoshopped them in?

I thought the Tonsley line was getting duplicated? Looks like it's still going to be single track.

Wasn't that a part of the scrapped Darlington project where it was going to be extended and converted to light rail? I've heard nothing about duplication since then.[Shuz] wrote:I thought the Tonsley line was getting duplicated? Looks like it's still going to be single track.
Looking forward to a free-flowing Adelaide!

I said there are no poles in Clovelly Park on Celtic Avenue where I pass daily. There has been no track work on this area/crossing since it closed...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
I guess in defence of all of us who thought nothing was happening to Tonsley line, the most visible section, ie the part most people see every day is the Daws Road crossing. Travelling over this crossing you would be forgiven for thinking the line had been closed permanently.
