Minutes of what, I've got various pull down menus?
[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Convention Centre | $350m
I like the plaza plans, but still concerned about the form of the actual building.
Incredibly heavy looking and overwhelming.
The third attachment (more details of the previous concept plan) is bordering on the depressing and laments a lost opportunity.
The previous plan looked sleek, elegant and appeared to compliment and enhance the existing riverbank.
This one just dominates.
I only skimmed the text (at work at the moment), but why the constant focus on "earthy" colours?
Browns in a riverbank setting don't work for me - loved the blues and greens of the former.
Blah.

Check page 53 of the third link posted. The colours are Blue as opposed to the brown render. Also must be submitted soon as it is dated 17th June 2013 ACC DAP Meeting.Matt wrote:I like the plaza plans, but still concerned about the form of the actual building.

Brando, that's the one they've ditched in favour of the brown/purple thing.

I am really disappointed at the lack of any activation whatsoever for North Terrace and the Riverside Promenade. A massive wasted opportunity.
[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Convention Centre | $350m
By itself the plenary building is actually quite interesting and attractive, however it doesn't gel with the existing convention centre or the stage 1 extensions. I don't understand why the architects chose to make each individual building have a different shape and colour. The architectural language being expressed does not make sense.Matt wrote:What do you think of the building itself, Will?
[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Convention Centre | $350m
If it was located in the CBD or suburbs it wouldn't look so bad, but this type of design doesn't gel with either the Riverbank nor the Convention Centre. Horrible proposal.
Agreed 100%Will wrote:I am really disappointed at the lack of any activation whatsoever for North Terrace and the Riverside Promenade. A massive wasted opportunity.

I don't know where to start except to say it's monumentally disappointing. What are Woods Bagot thinking!?
Keep Adelaide Weird

I love it. Will be one of my favourite buildings in the city if/when complete. Would have liked stage one of the redevelopment to be in that form so that we at least had uniformity between the new buildings but since that can't be undone (I'm not a huge fan of the stage one design so wouldn't want that replicated), I'm more than happy with it.
