Can anyone shed some light?
Got this as a reply as to why they are missing.
Artistic impressions evolve as the project develops through the design into the construction phase. The bridge alignment has not changed and on the northern bank, the amphitheatre area within the arc of the bridge to the river bank is still included. The finished treatments to this area will be resolved over the coming months, in consultation with the Adelaide City Council staff. One of these treatments is the continuation of the northern river bank ‘shared use’ path that currently exists. New boardwalk links will be constructed around each of the bridge supports connected by an on-land path through the amphitheatre.

So they haven?t actually designed the finished treatments prior to starting construction then?

"On land path" is a bit disappointing. I was under the impression the boardwalk would be wooden and over the river's edge.
Hey ho.

Are the supports visible yet?

I think the dirt just temporary during construction until they can get the supports and frame up.

I gathered that, given its half built!
Just curious as to where that old render came from - certainly don't recall seeing it before.

Well in that case you should of realised it is a previous plan? unless you thought they were going to build a second footbridge?

I hadn't seen that render before and wondered who'd come up with it - whether it was their original idea, one of the other contenders that wasn't chosen, a concept from AdelaideNow, etc.

Given how every step of this has been covered blow by blow by the posters on here, I thought it strange that this one hadn't been spotted and why AdelaideNow have it attached to their article.

Don't worry Matt, I know what you meant. But the image was probably only ever an artists' concept that the 'Tiser had drawn back when the footbridge was first announced, rather than an actual plan. Why would they use it now? Well, it's the Ragvertiser, hardly renowned for its accuracy...

Analysis: River Torrens footbridge in Adelaide cost higher compared with Helix footbridge in Singapore

Image
The award-winning Helix footbridge in Singapore, designed by COX Architecture. It's 280m long and cost $69 million to build. Source: Supplied

ARE South Australians being short changed on the $40.6 million Torrens Footbridge?

That's the conclusion of many who have seen Singapore's award winning Helix pedestrian footbridge in Marina Bay.

International tourists are flocking to walk the length of the 280 metre long structure, recently voted 14th among the world's Top 20 most amazing bridges.

Not even the greatest supporters of the "functional" footbridge across the Torrens - approved as part of the $350 million redevelopment of the Adelaide Convention Centre - expect it to make that list.

Another crap story from the Advertiser. What Adelaide really needs is a descent newspaper. I can not really recall one project that they have not made controversial. Far worse than the ACC at bing a hindrance to development in this state. Remember the months of crap about the Adelaide airport, now well used and fantastic. The new tram line was the biggest waste of $16m, till it become so successful that again they run story after story on crowded trams. And then years of crap about the Adelaide oval, contamination of the new hospital site, and the cost of asbestos removal at the old RAH. Then remember The cost of doing up North Tce, Now its the foot bridge, too expensive, to the wrong spot, too narrow, too many trees cut down, doesn't cross war memorial drive. Really do they have a team that's sole job is to sit around and drop crap on everything that happens is SA.
