It doesn't show the copper finish in this pic but you can see it is the western side of the southern stand. (next gen side)

Not sure how many saca members there are but the amount of seating the've given them seems a bit extravagant. I really hope they don't do the same for AFL games because you will find there will be a lot of spare seats on match day. They cant even fill the current members stand at AAMI!
SACA Members are always going to get seats behind the bowlers arms as they're the best seats in the house for cricket. I'd be surprised if any AAMI Stadium members would take up much, if any of the southern stand.

I'm surprised that they've classifed level 5 the 'Platinum' tickets - particularly the higher parts of level 5!

Ah, I spot it... looking good!

Looking forward to seeing the finished wrap-around bit around the dining room/superscreens too.

Looking at that above render, I can't seriously wait for a concert to be held here. Much MUCH better facilities than AAMI and once it's over, people will then cross the river and chill in the emerging riverbank precinct or established venues in the city.

Bring on 2014!

Anybody know how many could fit into the ground for a concert [like the pic above]....alllowing for those on the actual oval/grass do you think its like 75,000 max. or is say 100,000 possible?

I still never understood the government wanting an interstate team playing the crows/power for the first game. The first game at Adelaide oval should be between the two Adelaide clubs. Thank gosh the AFL thinks the same thing. Theres plenty of time for the vics to check it out!
The 1st AO game is going to be huge regardless, why blow your load of a Showdown in the first week when notoriously change averse Adelaideans will still be getting to grips with not being able to drive into the stadium. the transport on day/night 1 will have some teething issues, best to build up to a Showdown full house in week 3 or 4 of operations.
Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

They say 60,000 and if you do that maths (taking away the northern mound) thats approx 15,500 people on the field. Foo Fighters got 36,000 (I think) when the stage was facing only the western stand so that would seem about right?

Good point. Though because Adelaide had the first game of the season at home this year, Port gets it next year (reason why this whole who's home showdown arose as Adelaide gets the first home showdown in 2014). Therefore if it was to be an interstate club that means it would be against Port. The only times port even goes close to attracting even 40,000 is when they play the crows. It's not a very good look on the city if there's spare seats at the first game at AO. If there was a full house then they may as well have put the showdown on...

Yeah get back to development talk only. If you want to get sanctimonious about Crows vs Port crowds either take it to the pub or better still take it to big footy! comparing AMMI Stadium attendance's of either Port or Crows to Adelaide Oval attendances next year is about as good comparing apples with bananas.

Rubbish!
30,000 fans packed into Adelaide Oval in 2011 for the first AFL match ever between Port Adelaide and Melbourne. There were no major issues.
Adelaide United also hosted a few games there, with 25,000 odd people turning up. The only issue I recall was they had to turn people away because it was sold out!

Sorry to drag sporting politics into this thread(again), but you guys really need to think for your selves, and not accept the bullsh** that the SANFL & their cronies put out there as being factual.

Things like Footy Express and other public transport arrangements will be in full swing for the redeveloped Adelaide Oval.
If we were able to cope without all these special arrangements on quite a few occasions(not to mention cricket matches and concerts held there), then I think with those arrangements Adelaide will cope just fine.

Great pics Kasey, got the whole perspective of the ground. though could someone tell me what's going on in the first pic with the back of the western stand? Is that something do to with weather proofing?

I could be wrong but I think it's got to do with the work being done for the media center or coaches boxes or whatever was going on at the front of it.
Might even be as you say weatherproofing.
