and the Belair line is still not open. How is it that in 7 months with no trains and stuff-all track work that they are having signalling issues when they had all that time?
To be fair they had to wait for construction of the underpass to be finished before they could even lay signals through. Its debatable if the underpass works could've been done quicker but weather played a bit of a role in it but I'll admit AdMet screwed up in trying to rush the line reopening after the construction works were complete they didn't allow enough time for signals to be installed fully and the line tested

it is quite amazing how long we are closing train lines for, Im really over it. Now I guess we will have to go through years of testing of the new electric trains too, plus 8 months of testing to see if trains can fit down the tunnels of the Goodwood underpass. Yesterday I rode my bike along the Torrens to Bowden and while going over the weir I noticed a Gawler train crawling at about 5km/hour on what I thought was brand new tracks, so I guess that speed restriction will be inplace for another 7 years. Yes Im being cynical, but when you go interstate and overseas its quite amazing that trains go as fast as they can from station to station, feels almost strange.

Rode past the showgrounds farmers markets on Sun, about 11am. There were lots of traffic security and sign holders blocking the leader St level crossing because a speeding 4car jumbo zoomed through the crossing despite the the boom gates not coming all the way down until the last carriage went through, so I guess this is maybe where the signal issues are

Although max speed of the electric trains is 110 kmh, what will be the operational max speed of our electric trains?

If only it was public knowledge why some of the things happen the way they do :hilarious:
There's one 'issue' in particular which was a hot topic on here for a while when it happened. I've said enough.

What makes you think it's going to take years of testing btw?

For starters, my avatar is the well-known Adelaide Aquatic Centre insignia from 1989.

Scooter Guy here's a tip for you.
Maybe include a source (website link, etc) for the pictures in the original post (Unless the pictures belong to you ) ;)
Some people can get very upset if credit isn't given

Are they renaming the Noarlunga line to the Seaford line?

I suppose they will rename it to the Aldinga line when that rail extension finally occurs...
