[COM] Colonial Mutual Building > Mayfair Hotel
[COM] Re: U/R: Colonial Mutual Building > Mayfair Hotel
My guess is that it's actually for the Tower Apartments building on King William Street. That building was built in the 70s if I remember correctly?
Now... I assume, that glass is randomly breaking off, much like the glass did from Grenfell Centre (also a 70s building). As I recall Grenfell Centre had a similar canopy enveloped around it for a while when that particular problem was occuring.

Project proceeding well.
Due to open end of March 2014!
1 more private crane on our skyline.
one of so few!

Due to open in March 2014? It didn't even look half finished last time I walked by. Hopefully I am proven wrong and it will look spectacular.

Must be behind schedule as the signage says December 2013.

is it just me or has anyone noticed that the windows have changed?
or have they just been cleaned?

It is really starting to smarter the building up.

Looking forward to this refurbishment, will look great at the end of a refurbished Rundle Mall, and with hopes of the Jamie Oliver restaurant down the road in the old bank building, plus everything else thats happening. True revitalisation of the CBD.

new render including proposed signage which ACC plan to reject at Tuesdays meeting.

I think the extension looks cheap, tacked on and nasty but I quite like the signage! those types of signs have a grand feel about them.

Any reason they plan to reject? Differences look minimal to what has been approved.Ben wrote:new render including proposed signage which ACC plan to reject at Tuesdays meeting.

It's been a while since they've had an application to assess. Just following their procedures.Nathan wrote:Any reason they plan to reject? Differences look minimal to what has been approved.Ben wrote:new render including proposed signage which ACC plan to reject at Tuesdays meeting.

For me I don't mind the extension, it just looks like a totally separate building. Certainly much better than what was there - the larger size I think again gives the building it's own identity.spiller wrote:I think the extension looks cheap, tacked on and nasty but I quite like the signage! those types of signs have a grand feel about them.
What I really can't understand is the veranda. I assume that is just what is there now. It just looks so tacked on and tries to link the two buildings together but does it so badly.
