Great picture, good to see all the engineering, almost needed to build a bridge to build the bridge. The good thing is it Looks like its really moving along at a pace.

Walked up to it last week, it looks absolutely huge! I'm actually looking forward to crossing it! I do hope that it doesn't effect the waterway traffic too much though, when completed?

Walked up to it without taking happy snaps?! Outrageous!
This and Adelaide Oval are really changing the face of Adelaide. I really can't wait to get back in March and see it all myself (from every possible angle).
So reliant on those who post pics, so many thanks to those who do. Much gratutude!

I'm sorry, but it was dark and my phone's camera sucks ass!
Also, you forgot to mention the SAHMRI and ACC all within a stone's throw of one another!
I remember in 2007, my sister moved to overseas for about 8 months and when she came back, Adelaide had a tramline that ran all the way down to the University. Imagine being away from Adelaide for a larger period, like 10 years? You'd return and not recognise it!

Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

Good photos, Xaragmata.
Tim Horton (Former SA Commissioner for Integrated Design) tweeted a photo of the Torrens Footbridge under construction today, commenting that it validated the choice of a lower height as the best decision.

Followed by:
"Was huge pressure to build it 5m higher which would've lost connection to water and hope of bringing ppl to waters edge. Looking good."
Agree.

Having thousands of people using the Oval every weekend and also using the CBD will completely change the vibe on a weekend in Downtown rAdelaide:) can't wait to see the side effects of thisMatt wrote:Walked up to it without taking happy snaps?! Outrageous!

Forgive this post if it's not overly constructive but ^^^ I know what your sister must've felt, Phantom. I'll be home for a few days on the 23rd and it'll have been a bit over 6 months since I was last in Adelaide. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the changes I've been monitoring on this board (Though Oaklands station under construction again...not so much). Adelaide really seems to have changed for the better since I moved interstate in 2008; every time I come home there seems to be something new and exciting to see.Phantom wrote: I remember in 2007, my sister moved to overseas for about 8 months and when she came back, Adelaide had a tramline that ran all the way down to the University.
