30k for port and 40k for crows should be reasonable.

Just saw that one of the tarp-like things being used for the roof of the southern stand on the east side has been badly damaged in the winds today. Apparently 80k worth of damage. It didn't look like it was fixed down properly so some poor bloke's in strife I reckon right now.

Wonder if it'll affect the schedule?

It's probably more a case of wind gusts of over 100kmh then it not being secured properly.
Can just imagine the pressure it would have been under with todays winds.

That, and when it's only half-completed, parts of the structure which won't eventually be exposed to the wind etc were placed under extra stress than they were designed for.
Won't happen so easily when the whole structure is completed.

It wasnt a case of not being fixed down properly instead they were trying to install it but the winds were far too strong and got hold of it... Just wait for the libs to have a crack at the project saying its unsafe again

Alas, an upgrade/redevelopment of the Tennis Centre, poor cousin to Adelaide Oval, must be a long way off.
Is the Next Gen Gym underground car park included/linked to the new and limited underground car parking for Adelaide Oval?

Anyone heard any news on the Footy Express buses for 2014? I assume it will be a much leaner service, given the proximity of the railway station and alternative bus/tram services and the aim to lure footy fans to visit/stay/sample the delights of the city hospitality etc.

I do know a few elderly footy fans who catch the Footy Express, including an elderly lady who travels on her own, who are hoping it continues. The walk to/from North Terrace (and sometimes at night) can be daunting for folk with impaired mobility.

I was under the impression there would be a service to complement trains/trams/city busses. Especially with the fact that most matches are on days when the general public transport isn't as high-frequency as weekdays, and when there are specific peak times which change weekly due to match timeslots. Expect extra train/tram services to be added relative to timeslot of matches as well.

I think the footy express will be expanded to include trains too, but I have a bad feeling that we won't be getting free transport to the Footy next year. All both clubs keep saying to members is that we are working hard with the government. If they were going to agree to free public transport they would have announced it by now.

Not sure how footy express was funded, but I believe the WA system is a good idea, whereby there is a public transport levy on tickets to all major sporting events. That way, those that choose to clog up the roads with cars, also fund the free transport of those prepared to take trains and buses.

I believe it's the same here - it's gets added onto the season ticket cost.

I would hope not . I'm not joining the Parkland conservation society, green peace or the my walnut tree is better than yours association, but most of those awesome looking tress have been there for alot longer than any of us . I like the way to oval is emerging out of the parklands. It doesn't look tacked onto the edge of the city looks very much a part of it .
