Both Adelaide and Port Adelaide will have their after match functions in the cricket centre. Not sure what will happen during showdowns I guess the home team will have the cricket centre and the away team will have one of the other functions rooms in the Eastern or Southern standsBrucetiki wrote:Think it's also where the Crows will have their 'shed' parties pre and post-match.

What size crowd do you think there will be at the Strikers game on New Year's Eve? I'm expecting 25000 to 30000. You will still have plenty of people wanting to go down for a look with tickets only being $20 & only $5 for kids, there will be plenty if families there.

Couple of factors:justinpa1 wrote:What size crowd do you think there will be at the Strikers game on New Year's Eve? I'm expecting 25000 to 30000. 1) It's NYE. People go places for parties.
2) It's NYE. Fireworks and stuff in the city.
Could work either way or even itself out. I'd say 20-25,000 would be the plan.

The game starts at 7.10pm, it will finish before 11.30pm.
Elder Park will again be a NYE venue, with fireworks.
There will be plenty of people at the cricket who will then go out to Elder Park for the fireworks etc.

City Council will certainly be hoping people will go to the cricket then move across the river.rev wrote:The game starts at 7.10pm, it will finish before 11.30pm.

Looks like it will be a big crowd. Members will turn up, which would be the only question about getting a full-ish house.

The SOLD OUT sign has gone up! Welldone Adelaide! If all the members turn up there will be 34,000 there!
Where are all those doubters who were saying its a waste of money & that people won't come!
I'm pretty sure this will be the biggest crowd ever at Adelaide Oval for a domestic cricket match?!

So is there is a difference between a GA south and GA north ticket? I thought general admission was just general admission. Anyway, I'm glad i got my tickets on Saturday then.

Currently at AO there is, because there's no way of getting between them. So if you get a GA North ticket you go in the north gate and get access to the hill and seats in front of the hill. If you get a GA South ticket you go in the south gate and sit in the unreserved and non-Members sections of the Riverbank Stand.Hooligan wrote:So is there is a difference between a GA south and GA north ticket? Was at the T20 Strikers match on NYE last night ... my first experience in the new stands st Adelaide Oval. I was in the top tier of the Riverbank stand, 2nd row from the front.
Wow ... what a view of the ground!! It was superb viewing from up there. And the terrace overlooking the Torrens and the city was very popular on the warm night. That's gonna be great spot for mingling provided it's not raining.
That roof is massive and translucent, so lets in plenty of light. Even though we were right at the front of the top tier there is still abundant shade. However there is a small section of the top tier (in the front corners) which is not covered by the roof.
And I love having escalators which take you to the top level!
Overall it's an outstanding facility. For those who haven't experienced the new stands yet why not attend a T20 match and for $20 you can get awesome seats in Riverbank the stand!
Although I'm not a Crows or Power member I hope I can still get some GA tickets for some AFL games this year!
