On NYE does everything still have the 3am lockout as per every other night?

Yes there is a 3am lockout on NYE. There is quite some concern from club/pub/hotel and transport operators on the news the other night re the logisitcs of being a weeknight, a predicted hot night, and many extra thousands of revellers clambouring to get into clubs before 3am and after their midnight obligations. I think the hindley Street area will be mayhem between about 1am and 4am. As for the 3am lockout in general, well the people that are complaining the loudest (club and pub owners) are the very people whos policies and lack of controll of their patrons are the reason for the lockout in the first place.

I reckon many clubs will be at capacity long before midnight anyway.

Reading the thread on the new Art apartments in Flinders St, I noted the 48 apartment development had space for 10 cars, 30 bicycles and access to a shared electric vehicle. The Art apartments have sold quickly, with only 4 remaining to be sold.

Improved public transport, walkable cities, increasing numbers of cyclists on streets/roads, less polluting electric vehicles, bike share and car share schemes (various scales) are part of the changing face of cities - reducing car dependence and improving quality of life.

I can't accept that Tunzafun at Colonnades Noarlunga had closed down, only to become another Anytime Fitness club!
It was the only one in SA that had outdoor mini golf!
I think I'm right, the prolonged closure of the Noarlunga line would've been the final straw for it...

I have never seen many people in that Tunza-fun. Intencity at Marion would be busier at its quietest moment than Tunza-fun at its busiest. So the closure doesn't surprise me at all. Didn't really expect to see a gym pop up there, but given that Anytime Fitness seem to want a gym in every suburb, guess it should have been expected.



Also, It seems Nearmap is now offering casual membership. I've requested a quote, hopefully it's reasonable! But in the meantime, they are also giving a demo of a small section of Adelaide, from Bowden to the North-West corner. Isn't much, but it shows SAMHRI, NRAH, ACC, Vic Sq, AO, Torrens Footbridge, Rail Upgrade.
Also shows all of the metro area if you zoom out, but is a very standard visibility.

After ten years, Toy Corner at Pelican Plaza is moving to Dernancourt Shopping Centre! >_<
Now to get there, I have to catch either a 556/557 from TTP. WTF!

2 tenancies next door have also moved (Amber Sun has moved next to NAB at Modbury Triangle, and Jetset travel has moved next to ANZ)
Ray White has moved to where Sleepy Hollow was (next to Plaza Holden).
So I suspect in the following months, the 3 vacant tenancies may soon be merged into one!

I can't believe for all the whinging that goes on about public transport, we don't have a public transport thread!!

Anyhow, I was thinking the other day when I saw Chloe Fox? on the news saying how Transfield have lifted their game so they haven't needed to fine them lately, about how things used to be.
Growing up the only bus I needed to worry about was the 253. It was the 253 for as long as I can remember.
The bus routes/numbers didn't change. Maybe they changed before I was even born, but for my entire childhood and teenage years, the 253 was the 253.

What the hell is wrong with todays operators and why is the government(I assume) constantly changing routes and time tables....

Reading the free paper at work, there's an opinion piece by some guy called David Penberthy. His article is as shit as Bolts the other day where he claims he's an indigenous person of these lands.

This article goes on about SA trying to attract big international soccer clubs and Australian national team matches.

Melbourne paid $3million for Liverpool to play at the MCG. It pumped $30 million into the States economy however.

This guy rekons we shouldn't try attract big clubs here.
He claims our government shouldn't pay $3million for the Socceroos to play here. The original article never suggested that though.

He goes on to say we shouldn't pay for events, even though the same paper that he works for printed an article(which he is complaining about) which São Melbourne paid $3mil for Liverpool.

Is it really that easy to get a job at News Corp, that any uninformed ignorant drop kick can end up writing articles for them?

Did anyone heat a "rumble" last night? Apparently it was heard everywhere from Clare o Christies Beach. I was sound asleep.. This after apparently there were green lights seen off the metro beaches last week. If you search YouTube there's a tonne of videos about strange sounds and lights from all over the world. Maybe aliens have heard about our festivals and want a look?

And another rant..there's the Fringe show "Come Heckle Jesus" that some "Christian" groups have been sooking about. Now Islamists are having a sook too about it. Problem with that, that I see, is that if they get their way, they'll start complaining about things critical of Islam. And then we are on a slippery down hill ride.

Although I think we are already stuffed. Nobody would have the guts to do a similar show on Mohammed. Sad really. Political correctness hasn't gone mad, it's replaced common sense and peoples back bones.

Even sadder is an American duo who performed a show called "The last supper" in Brisbane and will perform at the Fringe, who got death threats in Brisbane over their show.

Can only imagine the reactions if someone had the testicles to do a show on Islam.

I don't know what these shows are about and have no interest in seeing them to find out. Even if they were extremely blasphemous, so what? How does it affect me, as a Christian?

It doesn't so why shouldn't these people be able to express them selves? It may not be to everyone's liking, but nobody is being forced to go watch these shows.

I don't get the cries about not having the guts to do a show on Islam. The guy is a white Australian, with (I assume) a Christian background. It makes more sense to do a show around what he knows, rather than represent a different religion and culture. The show, from what I've read of it, is only as blasphemous as the audience. In many cases he defends Christianity against the heckles. This is all just the usual knee-jerk reaction from people who have only read the title and assume the worst (see the similar outrage last year that got Bill Henson removed from an exhibition, despite the work being displayed being landscapes).
