What his religion is is irrelevant. What he knows? So if he's Christian he only knows about Christianity? He couldn't have possibly studied or read any other religions texts..

It's not about whether he is doing a show about Christianity or Islam or Buddhism etc.
What my rant is about is some people sooking about it, and the fact we wouldn't see a show that would offend overly sensitive muslims(most of them, sadly). It's the two crazy sides of political correctness.

Some think its ok to offend white Christians and they should accept it and get over it, and others think we shouldn't offend "minorities" like Muslims because we should be more tolerant.

It's like the whole Indigenous/Aboriginal/Australian debate.
Aboriginals get special treatment, extras from governments that other Australians don't get. Has it's merits.

But one elder said that no court in this country has the right to judge his people. Well why do they expect and demand all the free benefits they receive that the rest of us don't? If they are above the law and it's reach, then they should be above our education healthcare financial and employment support.

Where's the common sense gone?

Yeh their ancestors were hard done by. What happened was wrong. That's the way things were done back then. It's your own fault however when you are a drunk stumbling through Adelaide falling asleep on the road or a drunk skipping town to own in the outback looking for alcohol.

Maybe I should start demanding Turkey give me all these sorts of benefits our indigenous get..after all they killed over a million of my people, drove millions more out and stole thousands of children(just like our stolen generation...except our stolen generation knows who they are and where they come from as do their kids etc).

We now have this problem of extremist Islam and their intolerance in this country.
They aren't jumping on the anti-heckle Jesus bandwagon because they are offended but because they sense an opportunity to impose their will through a back door. This is how it starts. Islam is above its followers ethnicity. This is dangerous because regardless of me being Orthodox, others being Jewish, Anglican, Athiest, Buddhist and many other faiths in this country, we are above all that, Australians.

Pandering to every minority group that wants special treatment is stupid, but that's what happens.

Aboriginal people should take the opportunities presented to them, and there a f***load more for them then anyone else in this country, and make the most of it. And everyone else sooking from overly sensitive religious types should keep their preaching to those who want to hear it and stop trying to push their beliefs on the rest of society. And the rest of us should grow a back bone.

Interesting report on V2V technology.
US Feds Will Require All New Vehicles to Talk to Each Other
- turning research into action.
The future of automotive safety isn’t about more airbags or stronger steel. It’s about building smarter automobiles that talk to each other, so your car knows that other car is about to run a red light and applies the brakes to save your bacon. The feds think such technology, called vehicle-to-vehicle communication, is a great idea and want to make sure every new car has it.

The U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have approved V2V communication systems that regulators say will increase safety, reduce accidents and pave the way for connected cars. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said V2V technology could do for motorists in the coming years what seatbelts did in the 1960s and airbags did a generation ago.

“V2V has the potential to help drivers avoid 70 to 80 percent of crashes that involve unimpaired drivers,” Foxx said. “The potential of this technology is absolutely enormous.”
So many issues, questions but V2V communications technology is on the radar!

God, can you imagine they tried to trial that here in Adelaide? The lycra brigade would be demanding to know why it doesn't have cyclist collision avoidance built in.

A follow up interesting local connection to the previous post on V2V technology.

Adelaide firm pioneers 'talking cars' in US
Cohda Wireless welcomes US Department of Transportation decision to green light ‘talking cars’ on US roads.

Talking cars will soon make the leap from the latest children’s animation onto our roads in a bid to improve safety – but they won’t be talking to us.

Adelaide-based vehicle technology leader Cohda Wireless is poised to become a major beneficiary of a US Department of Transportation (DOT) decision to green light ‘talking cars’ on American roads.

This week, the department’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced it will start taking steps to enable vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication technology for light vehicles.

Pioneered by Adelaide-based Cohda Wireless, V2V technology promises to improve safety by allowing vehicles to "talk" to each other and ultimately avoid many crashes altogether by exchanging basic safety data, such as speed and position, ten times per second.

You know how we were bagging on our reversible freeway?

How "they" move traffic barriers before rush hour...

I'm more worried about what's going on in the bottom right corner. Is that three lanes merging into one?

Judging by the signs it's a carpool lane ending and merging into two lanes off peak (or three lanes on peak).

BREAKING NEWS: Toyota Australia has confirmed it will cease car and engine manufacturing in Australia by the end of 2017. More than 2,000 jobs will be lost in the closure of the Victoria-based plant.

Well, you can rant about Australia's car manufacturing all you like!
This is still the 21st Century, but definitely not as we know it.

World's Smart Cities series on National Geographic channel.
Nat Geo explores how Adelaide has used its multi-cultural population, astonishing landscapes, architecture and even its wine culture, to form a city that’s alive and vibrant.
Alas, it's not on FTA.

Hey guys! I have some happy news!
After 12 years, I'm going Queensland again next month!
My mum is off today to book some flight tickets and passes to the 'Big Four' theme parks on the Gold Coast!

Who goes off to book flights these days, when the Qantas/Jetstar/Virgin/Tiger websites are sitting right there?

If you are only booking flights go straight to the airline's website. Especially if they are a LCC. Agents these days make no commission on airfares. You can also try the comparison sites like Webjet, Zuji (owned by Webjet), Skyscanner, Expedia, CheapOair, Cheapflights, Lastminute, Jetabroad, FareCompare, etc., to get an idea of prices. They are not always cheaper than the airline so shop around. Also if you fly regularly sign up for the newsletters and specials. If you can buy airfares early airlines still do Earlybird specials. If not, depending on the airline there are periods when it is best to book to get the cheapest rates. Here you need to do some research.

Not really. As monotonehell explained, packages. Also some people prefer an agent because they feel safer with them or they've booked with them before and liked the service. Also in 90 percent of cases you've got a physical person to fall back onto. Chasing someone on the phone or online could be difficult.
