It will be interesting to see how quickly public transport is adopted for travelling to games. I know a lot of nervous North Adelaide residents who are worried about North Adelaide turning into a car park on game day.

I hope it is organised better than it was post the Jan26th ODI this year was. My 68yo Dad and I waited 45 minutes at the stop outside the footy stand for a bus heading North. Only to be told they were still being diverted up Montefiore Hill(2+ hours after the game had finished! and so we walked up to O'Connell street....Finally got a bus.the driver kicked us out at Gepps Cross for a connecting bus that never arrived. So we caught any bus we could find and ended up walking 8km through the back streets of Mawson Lakes to get home:( Now everytime I bring up the idea of using PT to go to things, guess what gets brought up:( We 'tried' to do the right thing and it was worse than a shambles!!
:((( :wallbash: :wallbash:
Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

Forgive me as I am not entirely familiar with the area but if you live at Mawson Lakes couldn't you use the train?

Train was actually my preference, but with the footbridge being unopened for the ODI..I was trying to reduce the distance my old man would have to walk..the bus is at the end of my street, the train station is over 300m away. If there had been a proper bus service we wouldn't have had to walk further than a couple of hundred metres. Next time the train will be the go I think.

They are. They only use them for training.

Ever seen an AFL game played with nets up behind the goals?

I can remember when Footy Park had those hideous (permanent) fences up in the early days... awful!

They are used at all AFL games during the warm up, then taken down about 20 minutes before the game starts.

2nd photo a preview of what the big screen will show during footy games? Not a lot left for the actual game footage!

Makes me worried that they won't actually put the scores on the scoreboard :/
Put totals on the replay screens and the goals/behinds/points on the scoreboard, and expand the score bug on the screens after a score.
PLEASE!!!!?!!!?!

Quite alot of workers working outside the ground on the eastern side today. Laying pipes in trenches and alot of levelling and clearing.
