I love some of the comments in that adelaidenow article. The troll suggesting they plant a veggie garden on the empty lot and sell the profits to fund a lawn bowls club was amusing. But then some NIMBY comments about it not having a backyard. Why would you want a backyard if there's vast flipping parklands right next door?!? NIMBY logic.
Anyway, it would be wonderful to see this one get up. That empty lot which reveals that hideous carpark from KWS needs building on ASAP. But how are 40% of apartments apparently sold already? I thought they were starting marketing in May?

Like them or hate them they seem to have done the business word is 40% sold but the committed figure is pushing 60% the sales office is to offload the balanceslenderman wrote:I love some of the comments in that adelaidenow article. Proximity to central market & vic square ?
It's not that close. What's so good about vic. square ?
How long has New Mayfield been on the cards for.....2 years at least.

How big do you think Adelaide is exactly

Sorry mate, trying to be optimistic. I think this has to be one of the best chances we have had in a long time to see a high rise tower eventuate.ghs wrote:Proximity to central market & vic square ?

If you consider Central Markets and Vic Square far, well then im sorry, did not realise 500 metres was too far to walk.

I also find it hard to believe that they have achieved 40% of presales but who knows - they may have sold in bulk to a few Chinese investors. Looks like a fantastic development and exactly what the south of the city needs - maybe one day the 'Southend' will become like Southbank in Melbourne...a continuation of the CBD full of sexy resi's!
Ps - is it a good idea to add Vue on King William to the title of this thread to make it easier to find in the forum index?

Even if they sold in bulk to chinese investors I find it hard to believe that it could have happened so quickly.
I agree with your comment about the south end of the city developing into a cosmopolitan area like southbank, it would be great if
it happens. Hopefully we will see more cafes, night clubs and shops opening in the area.

I'm not having trouble believing that. It's a neat looking building and inner city living is booming here.Lightsview wrote: As such, I find it extremely hard to believe that 40% of the units have been sold.

Anyone go to the pre-launch sales and purchase ? I am interested to purchase the 2 bed rooms unit but the size is a bit small compare to other apartments.

Here's the latest. Sounds very promising...
Big rush to buy up apartments in Vue on King William, which would be Adelaide’s tallest residential building
Giuseppe Tauriello, The Advertiser
May 18, 2014 9:39PM
A $100 million proposal to build the city’s tallest residential tower is one step closer to reality following a bumper week of sales.
Just a week after the official launch of the Vue development at the southern end of King William St, 84 off-the-plan apartment sales have been confirmed, together worth more $31 million.

God, the Advertiser cannot get its facts right.
It will not be the second tallest building after Westpac House. There's the Telstra Building, Black Stump, Intercontinental, 77 Grenfell and CC1 (to spire) which are all taller than this.
