If it was marble, how can you improve on this? Always impressed with this building as it is now.

This project is progressing quite rapidly now with approx. 50% of the Southern side now covered in the new cladding. Plenty of painting and cladding also taking place on the Western face of the building. These are the two sides I can see from my office so can't really comment on how the other two are progressing!

No mate, this the Origin building. Jamie Oliver has expresses interest in the old building directly opposite.
The name of the building escapes me....

Not trying to be a smart-ass, but are you actually talking about that one? Isn't that the same building that was planned to become some form of speakeasy gentlemen's club?

I would actually much rather a major international retailer take over the ground floor of the Westpac building. A store like Louis Vuitton would fit in very nicely considering it's located at a major CBD intersection and would also fit in with the emerging upmarket retail scene along North Terrace.Brando wrote:No mate, this the Origin building. the photo doesn't really do the new facade justice.
I'll try to get a few more once they take the covering off.

Hi,
it appears that the works being done are quiet major on this building.
are the tenants still in this skyscraper while the works are being done?
Cheers.

WAS a classy looking bldg - appeared like white marble. The only improvement is the north facing awning.

Agreed. Why the hell did we have to mutilate the facade of one of the only GOOD Adelaide buildings to have come out of the 60s (besides the Reserve Bank building and the State Administration Centre), especially when we have no shortage of horrid 60s/70s eyesores that could use a new facade (especially the Telstra Exchange and the Stamford Hotel). It's a mind blower.
