I've wondered why there hasn't been more of a connection / support base in Adelaide for Melbourne based clubs (particularly prior to 1991, before the introduction of SA-based clubs in the AFL) whom we share the same suburb name with?

Richmond, Hawthorn, St. Kilda comes to mind...

Richmond, Hawthorn, St. Kilda comes to mind...

Richmond's easily explained: their team share a name with the fiercest rivals of the club based at Adelaide's Richmond.

Adelaide's St Kilda has few people, likewise with our Fitzroy.

Are you sure we didn't have lots of Hawthorn supporters in our Hawthorn before 1991?

I've often wondered whether there are many Collingwood supporters in Collinswood...

Right now it should be Port are dominating AFL/SANFL, supermarkets cant keep up with Crows tissues demands.

Next time the Crows manage to win a game, it should be Crows finally win a game, Advertiser prematurely ejaculates, claims Crows are flag contenders again.

There is plenty of support for non-SA AFL clubs in SA.

Prior to Port joining the AFL, besides going for Port in the SANFL, as a kid I alternated between Carlton and North Melbourne.
I outright refused to support the Crows..and that's before I even knew about why they came into existence.
Just something about the whole Adelaide Crows thing, growing up, was a real turn off.
